It's a Dave thing too, entirely motivated by his stomach though :evillaugh: He decided it was time for breakfast at 3.30am this morning. Starts off with purring like a tractor and shoving his face in mine, followed by trying to suffocate me by lying over my face and trying to find a hand to lick. If this is unsuccessful he will then attack one of the bedside lamps, whichever side I'm closest too. Knocks things of the chest of drawers, scratches the chair in the bedroom, knocks things off the bedside table. All interspersed with rounds of the aforementioned purring and suffocating. He can keep this up for HOURS. I managed to fall asleep again but he started up afresh at about 7am :tired:

Once he's had a fuss and fed I don't often see him till he decides it's the next feeding time :evillaugh:

Totally agree with Horza - you can not beat Dreamies.  They are usually about £1.40 depending which supermarket you get them from - they were 2 for £2 at Asda the other week

Mind you my last cat Smudge would never eat any kind of treats I gave him.   only prawns  :naughty:  :Luv2:

Aw, that is sweet :)  Baldrick likes to wake me or OH up by either jumping on us, scratching or attacking books and pulling them off bookcases.  I much prefer the idea of a gentle tapping :D

awww  :Luv2:

Many years ago when we had younger 'uns we used to get the dive off the wardrobe on the bed too - usually at bedtime  :naughty:
Please consider the harder to home cats in rescue.

There is definitely something about the name Gizzy!  :naughty: :Luv2:

They can be little monsters cant they, I much prefer the soft waking up style as I gel lept on from a height also.... :scared: :evillaugh:

The soft paw approach hopefully will be the new tactic!  ;)

Gizmo's Mission to wake me up
« Reply #1 on: December 11, 2009, 12:24:36 PM »
Every morning if I happen to roll over before the alarm goes off Gizmo thinks its time for me to get up.

Normally he'll pull at the carpet, jump on the Tv (it makes noise), knock things off the dresser, chew on my books... anything to wake me up. Recently he's learned how to get onto the wardrobe and thought the new best way to wake me up is to dive off the wardrobe onto the bed - no matter if I happen to be in the way.

This morning however he decided to lay on top of me then softly touch my face with his paws, one at a time very gentley.

It was so cute, I got up so he could get fuss (his entire reason to get me up).

Sometimes, they're too cute for their own good. At least at 5:50am!
