Some of mine used to lick photograph prints, especially the ones printed on glossy paper.  ;D

Amber does that if I dont put them out of her reach. Its a pain printing photos and then finding they have tongue marks on  :evillaugh:

jasper loves that new magazine smell too and goes rubbing mad over the edges of mags  :Luv:

dont think memphis is deficient in anything....  just likes the smell/taste like jasper! ...hopefully!

his little vet card thing came in a plastic wallet, which i suspect keeps in the smell so he goes mad for that.  it gets very soggy!

Maybe Memphs is part Persian or he's trying to act like one so he can come and live with your lot and blend in without being noticed  :naughty:

Yup, I need the list lol. It's just those little things like his coughing fit that happened one time only. He didn't have any symptoms to take to the vet and was absolutely fine afterwards. I might ask them if they think it is worth doing a blood test to see if everything on his inside is working ok. Otherwise he's as bouncy and alert as anything.

Oh he doesn't lick the covers, just the edges. I've got a few things I shall be mentioning to the vet at his yearly check up so shall add it to the list. But he seems as fit as a fiddle. His recent coughing episode never reappeared likewise with his one day stink  So far they've both been one off things.

Oh and if he's deficiant in something I can't think what - he has 2 meals a day of complete food (Felix, Whiskas, Sheba or c/d), drinks plenty and has a bedtime bowl of dried food (Encore or c/d). Plus he has the odd piece of fresh chicken.

Suspect its something in the print on the covers and I would be worried that he is picking up toxins that will accumulate in his body over a long period of time.

Some cats lick things cos they are deficient in certain things or on a downward slope to a serious illness and wonder if its worth talking to your vets about it.

Memphis has this really bizarre habit. I say habit as I've caught him doing it on many, many occasions. He will just sit and lick catalogues/magazines for absolutely ages. His favourite is the Argos catalogue. One side of it is looking rather wrinkled from getting wet for so long. He licks the entire width of these things and so far hasn't got a paper cut  :scared: I can call his name and he will turn, look at me then go back to his licking. I've started hiding my Empire magazine as that is another favourite of his.

It doesn't bother me but its a rather odd behaviour and I was just wondering if any ones cat does this  :scared: Do you think he has a paper deficiency  :evillaugh:

Ps- its usually thick glossy magazines like Empire, Good Food, Argos but he started on the TV and Satellite magazine this week lol.
