Well you just keep a good eye on him, be careful what you give him to eat and ask the vet if it is chronic or acute.  Also would mention the enzyme powder.  Best of luck will be thinking of you:)

hi he had long acting jabs.
my vet said if he improves by weekend hed be ok. just spoken to diff vet and she said i should enjoy him why i can and bare in mind he wont be here forever. :-:

DId the vet give him any enzymes or meds?  I would try to keep his diet bland and not give him treats.  He might just be worn out from being at the vets.  It is anxiety making though, if you are really worried, ring your vet for advice. :hug:

stupid question. tigger has been grat since thursday.
i have given him some treats today. hes lying on my rug at the moment sleeping. i offered him a felix stick but hes not interested. full up? tired? or do you think hes poorly again.    just made my dinner and now i cant eat it for worrying :scared:

My vet charges £12 for it but vetuk is about £7.

It is much more expensive than other furball pastes but after trying every one going, I think it is the best. You only get 20g in a tube whereas most others are 70g for 1/2 the price.

R u sure it is the Lactulose and not the pancreatitis which is making him vomit?  Best of luck anyway  :hug:

My Dragan had chronic pancreatitis for four years before he was pts (not because of the pancreatitis).  He had a special enzyme powder which had to be mixed with his food each meal.  He was supposed to have a low fat diet but wouldn't touch it and seemed to do ok on senior food.  He only had one further flare up which was caused after he raided the kitchen bin and stole the netting from a joint.  He did however have constant constipation.  Best of luck

hes on feline wd prescription diet. just rang vets,nurse said drinking is ok only cos of the food. just need him to do a poo :crossed:

I know Diddydawn's dog had it and she had to give her a special diet which I think included tripe.

Just googled and it is a low carb diet. So most cat foods are out except things like applaws/orijen I would have thought. Classic cat food is also cereal-free so an economical alternative. (24 big tins for under £10 in PAH right now)  although in the short term, there is probably a prescription food that is even lower carbs. Cats need next to no carbs in their diet as they get their energy from fat and protein.

vet said only way to know for sure is a biopsy but not opening him up again.
he is so diff from wed,hasnt been sick is eating like a horse and seems to be moving better.
so odd really is,im not sure what she gave him but hes now even eating his special diet that hes sposed to.
my only big worry is no poo as of yet.

Pancreatitis is very hard to diagnose, and I believe they need a special diet, although it depends if it is acute or chronic pancreatitis. i think if they get acute, it can just be a one off thing and never bother them again, but chronic pancreatitis needs a long term special diet. The withholding of food is actually the way to treat pancreatitis in dogs, I dont think it should be done in cats, but I Can't remember where I read that now (it is nearly 3 years since I researched it for PEbbles). Fingers crossed for him

hi sorry tigger been unwell for a month had all tests etc. pdsa said it was in his and my mind. i knew it wasnt. vet said yesterday thought it was pancreatitis. had 3 jabs and no food for 12 hrs. she said if improving by weekend it prob is and hed be ok. does anyone know what the treatment is? or would that have been what she gave yesterday

mustnt get hope up but if and only if tigger is the ok over weekend it would seem that it was pancreatitis.
does anyone know what the treatment is? or is that what vet gave yesterday? she said if he was gonna be ok it would show by weekend and hes def improved. thanks guys (hug) xxxx
