I only wish I'd found it when my mother was having the same problems with her cat - she never noticed the pee dripping of the seam and I had to creep about wiping it up without her noticing me, as it would have upset her

Just thought I'd bump this up - I've had the tray for about 3 weeks now (missing flap even turned up within a week or so) and it's brill

It really doesn't leak at all and does contain the smell of Geoffrey's stinky wee very well indeed

I am really pleased with this tray, it's a good size, very practical and easy to use, and a good price

Fortunately he goes in, turns round and sticks his head out the door while he pees up the back. So far so good, it's been well used in the past couple of days and hasn't leaked at all

Well my new Gimpet tray has arrived (minus door flap

) so I shall let you know if it is indeed 100% leakproof as it claims to be! I'm feeling quite optimistic, as the seal is double layered.

The Van Ness one looks like it is worth a try as the sides are really high - Hopefully keeping more litter inside

Could someone post a pic of their Zooplus covered litter tray? I do need a second one, I like to rotate but can only rotate with the dodgy covered tray at the moment.

I haven't had any problems with the Marchietto ones from PAH. Alice went through a stage of runny poos at the exit so I had to clean the join but otherwise, they are fine. Clapton wees by the exit but squats so not a problem. I prefer the cheaper one without a flap (took the flap out anyway) as the other ones are harde to clean.

Jaffa does that. The tray I use is pretty good. Not perfect but it doesn't drip onto the floor. When I take the lid off I do have to wipe the rim of both base and lid, but I only occasionally get a few drips. I do still stand it on newspaper though. I haven't time to find a link to the one I use unfortunately as I'm in an extoritionately expensive internet cafe at the moment! I think I have linked to it before. I think zooplus sell it. It's a very large one. They do a corner version too but I have the rectangular one.

i have the same problem, my friend gave me a covered litter tray which is fab, the seam is more towards the bottom, so Molly doesn't hit the seam. I do still have a puppy pad under the tray just in case though.

That's a good point, I hadn't considered that as a possibility! Definitely something to investigate further! He does do number 2s in it sometimes but without fail he does his pees standing up at full spray.

Based on those reviews I've ordered one of those zooplus ones that Trigger linked to...even if it does turn out to be the litter, it looks like a better tray than my current one so no harm in any case.

I use open trays and have puppy pads under for the odd time the boys have bad aim, i find they do it when they use the tray with their least favourite litter in it, for some reason they often need the loo in 2's and its always pairs with same litter preference

the short version of this is could it be he doesnt like the litter so wont put his botty near it?

Thanks for that - those really are good reviews...maybe worth giving one of those a go then. Geoffrey really does force the pee out hard so if the trays I'm looking for don't exist, maybe actually this one with a lower lip would be better because then it would drip down rather than being forced straight at the seam at high pressure.

Mogs has always stood up to wee instead of squatting. This is the only one that hasnt leaked on me. I find theres nothing worse than looking at the floor around the tray and thinking good it doesnt leak and then as you open the click locks get a handful of wee

He isnt spraying though, he raises his bot as he pees!

Thanks - although I'm still not convinced even that would work, Geoffrey is a big cat and he can easily pee that high up and with great force, so even though it says it's leakproof, I'm fairly sure it would still be able to leak out through those seams and drip down onto the floor. I never thought finding a suitable tray would be so difficult!

My little darlings use a covered tray, but Geoffrey has this terrible habit of actually spraying in it instead of squatting and weeing (when he goes outside he does squat to wee so I know he can do it, for whatever reason though he chooses to spray high in the tray. Consequently a lot of his wee leaks out the join between the top and bottom half. So I need to find either a one-piece covered tray (which I suspect doesn't exist) or a two piece tray where the bottom half overlaps the top half. On every one I've seen so far, the top half sits on top of the bottom half and lips over it, which means that when he pees hard at the join, it leaks out and drips down the back and onto the floor. If I can find one where the bottom half curves around the top half, at least it will hold any spillage in the join where I can clean it away more easily (

I know what I mean, although I'm not sure if that makes sense

If anyone has any suggestions I would gratefully receive them!
