my little Mouse wouldnt be able to manage the fence yet but Merlin is a big boy for 6 months.  as soon as he was over the fence he ran straight up a huge silver birch, major palpitations.  i can already tell that Mouse is going to be an indoor cat but Merlin just can't wait to get out.

Thats something I worry about - my two little uns have been out - under close supervision like you, but as yet they have not scaled the fence - a bit high for them to jump at the moment.  I am dreading the time I have to let them have a bit of freedom - it's many years since we last had a kitten and I can't remember what to do  :scared:  I have taken a few practice attempts with prawns, ham, their dishes with a fork, even favourite toys rattling all falling on deaf ears  :scared:

i let Merlin out under supervision this morning.  straight away he jumped over the fence into next doors garden. took half a packet of ham and 20 minutes to get him back in.  panic attacks

he's staying in now until Mouse is done (another month) and then maybe a bit longer so it's warm enough for us all to go out there together.  he's going to cause me a few heart attacks this one, i know it.

Hig hug for Merlin now he's a big boy!!

My two are due to go next week - they have been showing interest in each other and trying to hump each other for a week or two but while they are on these antibiotics the vet sugggested we wait another two weeks.  They are desperate to get out too and crying at the door all the time - nuts off soon lads so make the best of it  :evillaugh:

yep all done.

he was surprisingly sprightly when he came home but later on he was really sad, bless him.  it was the opposite of my usual experiences.  usually they come home feeling sad and droopy and pick up later.  he's absolutely fine now although his wounds arent quite as neat as i'm used to.  poor little Mouse didnt know what to do with himself without his little mate all day.

I'm sure if he did have anyone looking for him you'd have heard by now.

thats what i think too but i still worry every now and then that somebody will suddenly show up for him.  he fits in nicely here and i'm afraid i wouldn't be able to give him up any more than i would any of the others.

Ewww yes definitely time to have his "bits off" ... that sort of behaviour is not what you want    Frisky little so and so!

Merlin is a lucky little chap to have found you and I'm sure if he did have anyone looking for him you'd have heard by now.

tomorrow little Merlin is having his bits off.  i'm thinking that 4 months and 2 vet bills make him officially mine.  i've had no calls about him at all so i'm convinced he was dumped rather than lost so i'm going to ask the receptionist at the vets to take down the "found" poster while i'm there.  i've been waiting for all his baby teeth to fall out so i'd know roughly when he wasold enough for the op.  he's been ready for a few weeks i'm sure.  he's the only one of my cats ever to try and do "it" to me.  a friends cat was prone to dry humping your arm but i've never had one of mine behave like that.  i must say, that kind of loving i can do without

Merlin was found in the woods on bonfire night and although i've had one phone call and one emai, both were regarding tri colours and Merlin is black. if anybody turns up for him now i'm afraid it's tough luck  :P
