hA HA The bathroom is getting a heated floor next month - perhaps ET will start hanging out in there. Only 3 more days until she moves in!

I think Beavis may be a bit spoilt - we had a heated floor put in our conservatory for the cats! :shy:

Don''t forget to post pic when you get her !!
Not used Parcel pets before ?
I use whats called a Whelping pad and put it in one of the beds (Smarties -no-one else can get in that one !) under some fleece and then plug it in if its cold -it was really good when he had an op at the vets -he had it on for about 3 weeks then .  Couldn''t get him out of it .

Good luck with that hope the puss is negative

As for FIV my cats have never been tested - the rescue here does not routinely test for it

Hello Yvonne,

Thanks for the welcome. The RSPCA brought a cat to visit us on sunday. She had been picked up as a stary and is skin and bone! So sad. Also all her lovely long hair has been shaved off becuase it got matted. She stole our hearts (she is an old lady cat just after a comfy bed and snuggles) but OH is not keen on FIV+ cats so we have asked that she be tested (we're paying) before we home her. I am desperate for news, but so far nothing. I think she wants to live with us, she was happy to gobble the food we gave her and walked up to me to ask for fuss and then started purring.

Fingers crossed for news soon

Kate

Hi Kate.  Welcome to Purrs, and it's lovely to have you join us.  Am sorry about Rosie.  I think once you've experienced life with a cat, life without a cat is so much emptier.  Am glad you're able to offer a home to another, and a golden oldie sounds just the ticket.  Hope you find your companion very soon.

Hello,

I found this site whilst surfing catchat. Until recently (one month) I had a lovely cat called Rosie, I only had her for one year as she was a golden oldie when she came to us from cats protection and she very sadly got liver cancer and had to be PTS. I miss her everyday, especially when I come home and she does not run to the door to greet me. She was a very gentle loyal cat who loved the heater more than anything.

As I can't seem to bear a cat-less life I am looking for another cat (or cats). We live in a ground floor flat, just 2 adults. We could install a flap to give access to communal area but we are quite near a busy road, so indoor cat(s) probably best. Rosie had no interest at all in the outdoors, she ran away from the door if I opened it and cried and cried if I tried to take her outside. My OH is not keen on FIV+ cats, I would be happy to home such cats but I have to respect his feelings I guess so another golden oldie for me, I think. I know some oldies still like to go out but I think there are cats out there who are just as happy with love and and a heater and the odd tin of tuna :-)  Or I would be happy to take cats with problems such as blindness or deafness that meant the outdoors was not a good idea for them.

I am in touch with local rescues but if anyone hears of a cat or cats that might be suitable please let me know, I am in the Guildford area, happy to travel and pay expense for you to home-check me. (And of course the donation, just saying happy to cover additional costs of home-check if I find my new friend(s) outside the local area).

I will cross -post in the re homing section but I wanted to introduce myself formally!

looking forward to chatting with you all,

Kate
