I did have to have a little giggle Lisa  :evillaugh:

I am so glad our Leo is ok, Glad your vet isnt one of those vets who harps on when a cat is a tad over weight - It really gets on my nerves, all cats are different and wont weigh 4kg on the dot !!!

Hey, nothing wrong with a few fat pouches! I can vouch for that  :evillaugh:

So pleased to hear that everything is fine with Leo, that your insurance is okay and that you won't have to sell your flat.  :Luv2:

Sounds like you have had a rather trying few days - hope that the very least you might be able to curl up on the sofa (with Leo, of course) and enjoy a stress-free weekend.    ;D

The two lumps are infact his fat pouches!!!.. His fat pouches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yesss: ha ha How silly do I feel ?!

She assured me he isnt over weight but all she kept saying was "He's definately going to be one of the BIG ones!" So apart from porky belly shall we say absolutely nothing wrong with him.. I feel a little silly but Im releaved & glad I took him all the same - PHEW !

Ive just done lots of reading up on this subject & it will always state that if it is a foreign body causing a blockage then there is always vomiting, loss of appetite, unusual stools etc etc. Well I will soon find out.

Thanks for all the best wishes

Just called to confirm again & explained the situation. I spoke to a lady who said that if it is illness relating to an accident then he will be covered. eg.. foreign body.. which Im pretty sure it will be? Obviously I won't know untill I take him later but we'll see. Im so glad now I set cover up to start on April 1st.. Fingers crossed

 :thanks:

Lisa, I'm so sorry about the job....that must've been really stressful.

Good luck at the vets, Leo.  :) Hope it's nothing too serious. (My oldest cat has had a lump on her tummy for years, it's just fatty tissue.)

Hi

Please let us know how Little Leo goes, wishing him all the best and keeping everything crossed.

If your insurance gives you problems I really would check the small print and whether any money has been paid to them. If they've been taking the payment DD anyway they haven't got a leg to stand on really. I have had a similar problem, although with a different type of insurance product as I used to have to sell it for my job and therefore needed a City and Guilds qualification in insurance sales. It is always best to read the smallprint very carefully and, even if it is in the policy wording that it needed to be returned, if they have been taking the money anyway this could be deemed an unfair contract.

Good Luck and PM me if you need any specifics about the policy and who to approach for help.

Roz, it is probably to cover them from people insuring their pets just because they suspect something, and want cover in place, as accidents in the 14 day period are till covered.

Hi Lisa,

Like everyone else I pray that little Leo is going to be all right.  Fingers and paws crossed for him.

I cannot advise on the insurance but if you have been subscribing to it but forgot to return the form, then I would think you have a case.  If it transpires that the insurance lapsed and you forgot to renew it, then I would think it unlikely that you will be covered.  I'm sure it will be as Gill says....a fourteen day delay.  I don't know why insurance for pets cannot start with immediate effect like car insurance does, but there you are.

So sorry about the job....you just have to take solace in the thought that it wasn't meant to be....something better will turn up. :)

Get well soon Leo.

Best wishes,

Roz

if you are only signed to axa  from 1 april , sadly you will not be covered as there is a 14 day period before the insurance becomes active, as with most companies.

It's natural to worry  - we've all been there.

Wait and see what the vet says. It might be absolutely nothing - of course we understand how you are feeling at the moment and keep everything crossed for you for the visit to the vet.

Please let us know how you get on..

oh that sux big time Lisa - still, better luck next time. If the insurance has been accepting your money they have accepted responsibility for your cover. If they challenge it, then point this out to them. If they still baulk, Suggest they give your money back so you can pay the bill. Fingers and toes crossed for the lovely Leo!
