Palatable Glucosamine?

Christine have you compared prices to vet uk? 

Not yet, Millys Mum - the vet suggested Cosequin a couple of months ago when we were there for Blips jabs, so I bought the first batch from him for goodwill purposes, to tell the truth.  I shall buy the next batch from Vet UK.  for thinking of us!

Hydrochloride is better than the sulphate 
Cosequin is good, lola has half a capsule in her food and eats it with out noticing but as christine has said a blob of cheese works well too.

Cortiflex is meant to be great but it doesnt say what it tastes like, i remember the horse one being strong. Lola isnt a cat to be medicated daily so i decided against that in case it didnt get eaten in her food.

I just looked at the ingedients of the powder I tried and there are no additives. The cheap ones I have seen have a coating so maybe I'll have more luck with those, or possible just straight Glucosamine without Chondroitin?

We get Cosequin capsules from our vet for Blip: you break them open and sprinkle the contents on food.  I have had less good results mixing it with food but good results mixing it with Primula (ham variety).

what about the cortiflex stuff, says you get it in tablets/powder & liquid form.

I just looked at it and cortavet which work on a similar principle of isolates of active ingredients with smaller molecules - It's all getting a bit complicated 

I don't mind buying it if she will take it but seem to be throwing good money after bad with all these things

They sell a cat & dog version which are 500mg  but don't have the chondroitin - really cheap though so might give them a try. Still not sure if Glucosamine Sulphate is the best? - That's what Noractive contain (+ the Chondroitin)

OK I googled. Apparently, it is tasteless  so I imagine it must be the stuff they add that puts the cats off.

I saw this - really cheap - are there 2 kinds of glucosamine and one is more effective than the other?
This is probably the one that isn't as good, going on price.

I think by Palatable they mean "cat enjoys spitting them half way across the room and/or behind radiator"

I was going to google but both the ones I have tried are supposed to be palatable but try telling a cat

I've got the same problem with Max as you have with Alice, Mark. He's supposed to have Cosequin but struggles to get the tablets down and the liquid stuff's no good either. Which are the smallest glucosamine pills?

i dont know mark sorry, have you tried googling palatable Glucosamine to see what comes up ?

I have been trying to get Alice to take it as her old legs are a bit wobbly but she won't take Seraquin (no wonder, they are like horse pills). Caroline gave me some Noractive to sprinkle on her food but she won't touch the food with it on  . The Eagle pack dry she has contains it but small quantities and she doesn't eat much of it. I noticed Cystease contains it - would that be worth trying?
