Thank you for explaining that I know it is hard when you are a child and you cannot make a decision in the process, I take it that the cats did not come to live with you after you returned home after the fire??

Take care

mischief was a lovely black and white cat that we got after my mum and step dad split he always looked like he had a goatee beard as his chin was all black he got his name due to his curtain climbing when we got him and later his hunting of gold fish he managed to terrorise 8 gold fish to death. he was my best friend as a child he would come and sit on my bed at night and tickle my feet and every morning he would claw at my hair to wake me up. after a house fire i had to go live with my Gran and she detested fur :'( so him and coca (who we got after molly disappeared)went to live two doors down I'm glad someone took them in so quickly

   to you, because I can truly relate... I also had to give up my dearest boy Hobbes 12 years ago.  We were together for 3 years while my ex who was in the US Navy was stationed in Rota, Spain.  When his assignment there was over and we had to relocate to Texas, there was no room left for pets in our MAC flight (flight specially provided free for military personnel) so to transport Hobbes we would have had to fly commercial.  My ex didn't want to do that and I, not knowing this just had gone on a personal holiday and spent all my money, couldn't afford to fly with him on a commercial flight.  So I had to trust him to a good friend of mine who also loved him.  It was the most heartbreaking thing I had to do in my entire life.  To make the matter worse, this friend has drifted apart and after a year or so has ceased to contact me any longer.  But at least I know he was loved by her and being looked after well so I must keep the faith on that.  It really hurts me still though when you look back on it.  And I did have dreams of him now and then, but thankfully, it was of him and I back together sweetly, him in perfect health.  I just pray this will never happen with Oliver whatever happens in the future....

I've had dreams about mine, but not too bad, except the one where I dreamt it was kinda post-apocalyptic, and I had to leave my home, cept it had been taken over by demons or something, and I couldn't find my cats, although I knew they had escaped from them.  Don't worry, even I think I'm a bit odd upstairs sometimes!  :evillaugh:

I've found in the past that dreams like this happen 'cos I'm subconsiously worried about one of my cats.
Last week I had a dream thet I moved and someone left the door open and 2 cats got out. I went out to find them and I was going along a busy road heard that a cat had been sitting in the road and just got run over. I rushed over to the place where the paramedics (well it was a dream) had just finished with Puss - he was lying their with strteched out with no fur (like a skinned rabbit ).
There was another cat to find and I heard there had been another fatality.

At that point I woke up thank goodness.

Back in the real world Puss noticed puss was quiet and I took him to the vet a couple of days later. After a course of antibiotics he is back to his spraying, hissing and fighting self. I think the second cat is my constant vigilance over Pepsi and her breathing for which she is being medicated.

So sorry to hear this, there must have been something at the back of your mind.
If you would like to tell us more about Mischief, I for one would love to read about it.

Take care

and I second that Yvonne I would love to hear all about mischief furballmom. As you said, you were forced to give him up so you have nothing to feel guilty about. Unfortunatly our minds have cruel ways in our sleep and when awake

Sending you a big head kiss from the Ell clan
