Title: Strange but funny...
Post by: Aphid on February 24, 2019, 10:19:39 AM
I have had a number of much loved cats over the last 35 years but never one that does what one of my two young boys does. Jasper has a habit of hunting out either fluffy socks lying around or my wife’s bras. He makes an strange but sad sounding noise, almost like a noise of distress as he picks up the item in his mouth and carries or usually drags it to me straddled between his legs. Has anyone else experienced this sort of behaviour. Not sure if he thinks he found a baby animal that needs help and he feels he needs to bring it to me, or that he is pleased with himself for finding it and is pleased to return it to me.

 :evillaugh: :evillaugh:  How sweet.   :Luv:

Sounds to me like he's bemoaning your wife's  housekeeping skills.

Seriously though we've had cats that brought us feathers and leaves, but never items of clothing.

I'd worry though if he starts bringing you other ladies bras.   ;)

Gosh. That is something entirely different. Glad my Jasper only takes socks and bras from within the house.

Jude brought home presents, bunches of leaves, remains from neighbour's barbecues, half eaten rib anyone?, but her her piece de resistance has to be the egg and cress triangle sandwich. We did get the odd sock, no idea where she got them from, but nothing on the scale of Dusty.

You did wonder what was coming through the cat flap next.

Clearly not a Barbie fan, then...?  :evillaugh:

Bless him, he didn't mind.  He was our little scruffpot.   :Luv:

He'd go out and catch a mouse, and a spare for his buddy (our other cat, Paddy).  He was very kind.  I 'spect if a Barbie had presented herself he'd have considered it.
