The radiator bed used to belong to Lulu. It has been on the radiator since Astrophe andZoonie arrived and they completely ignored it until Astrophe pushed Zoonie off the window sill and he landed in it whereupon he curled up and went to sleep

Cats paws, the rescue center they came from had their mum, dad, 3younger brothers and a sister about 5 months old. Mum anddad are about 2 years old. I went to see them at New Year. Mum and ddaughter have been rehomed but the dad and brothers are still there. All of them are black and white. Wish I had more room.
I always though these two were Felix cats but the white tip on the tail is missing. They are beautiful cats and I would be lost without them.

Alfie's don't need doing as he is outside a lot. Cleo's need doing quite often but it is something of a dram. She loves being huppyside down but her furry feet make it really hard to get at her claws. We got the vet nurse to do it last time -and it took 2 of them!

Astrophe and Zoonie are great, as you can see. I don't have to hold them tightly either and Astrophe was just purring his little head off even though he did try to get away.
I think it helped having them from kittens. When they sat on my lap I played with their paws and tail all the time to get them used to being handled and it seems to have worked ;D

Me neither. I thought he was about 10 pounds and Zoonie was about 12, just by holding them. This means Zoonie is somewhere around a stone, 14 pounds, can't wait to find out.
The vet was very impressed with Astrophe's condition, she called him Apostrophe :rofl: She actually gasped when she saw him and said she couldn't believe how big and shiny he was. Regards the weight it's all muscle.
She asked what I fed them on and how many times a day I feed. So I told her, 6 times a day, plus dry food.
Carry on as you are she said, wish more people did what you are doing ;D ;D

I remember when I first saw the pics you posted I said straight away, with a lot of other Purrs members that their fur was sooooooo shiny and how adorable they were. They reminded me of Callie and Monty but the black fur was just so shiny.
I remember taking Smudge to see the vet and him saying how shiny he was and well looked after. It is such a compliment when they say that to you. We all know how well we look after them but to hear it is great.

How do the boys react to their visitor?
They know Wonky, they met him when they were kittens. When I could hold both of them at the same time, we sat outside and they all had a good sniff of each other. This was when Zoonie was having toileting problems because of Wonky, it was he who sat on the doorstep and left his mark.
Now they just sit and look at each other through the window, no growling or shenanigans. When Wonky moves, Astro and Zoonie will run to another window to stare at him.
I call him Mr Wonky because his head tilts to the left, the product of an ear infection when he was a kitten.

Lighting is very important I have an external LED light units that I use along with the flash, oh and a very good camera. Ask the CCL's, I think three lovely ladies have bought the same camera.

Andrew that extra light thing. Does it screw onto the camera via the tripod hole. Does it come with the plate to screw it onto the camera. It looks like a brilliant piece of equipment. I find my cottage is very dark and most photos come up blurred or grainy . If it's brilliant sunshine in the windows I can get better photos.At night the photos are very poor. Though I must say with the new camera it does take better indoor photos. Glad to see Astrophe in top form again after vet visit. Sorry if all the questions are answered in the weblink you posted. Just looked, and thought I must have that.

Canon, nice. It's a nightmare buying a camera these days isn't it? So much choice! I use Nikon D810's for work and I'm a big fan of Panasonic Lumix. Don't even ask how many cameras I've got! :evillaugh:
Just bought a Lumix TZ70 Ultra zoom for my hols, great reviews and a nice retro look. The zoom is unreal for a little camera. Oh don't get me started, I could bore you to tears for hours about photography equipment! :evillaugh:

Me too - they're like little jelly beans :wow: I like to get in a little paw kissing from time to time but Nic, I'd be in the trout pout stakes too if I tried kissing the Gurls paws I fear.
Moray's paws fascinate me because they're so big, tufty and powerful on a relatively small cat.

Many moons ago I bought a beautiful red food place mat for Smudge, it was a black cat eating from a bowl of food and looked just like him, It had his name printed on it. I put it at the bottom ofhis graveand then wrapped him in his fave blanket and placed him on top of the mat.

Andrew, I think I have just got a window bed like the one in the photo.Does it stay in place? I'm worried that Alfie might be too heavy for the suckers, even though they say it will carry up to 50lbs (and even Alfie isn't that big! :rofl:).
It will stay up. You need to lightly moisten the suckers. It holds both the Hoolies at once, all 26lbs of them. ;D

He's doing well Mary. Zoon is being a bit of a git lots of growling and hissing but I have a plug in and spray and also 100 Zylkene now, so he has calmed down a bit.

Vet said he was doing great Mary. He has to wear the collar for another 7-10 days though, goes back in 3 weeks for x ray

Update on Astrophes vet visit
They couldn't do the xray said I shouldn't have been booked in that late for one so have to go on Thursday at 8.40. More expense, so not too happy about that
Otherwise he's doing fine and they are very pleased with him. He can have more freedom too
This doesn't mean he can be out of prison permanently but he can walk around and explore. Still no running or jumping

Astro's leg hasn't healed, todays x-ray showed that the plate had come loose and the bone had separated.

I remember when I first got Bonnie and she had just had her tail amputated it was so hard to look at it and not to be able to stroke her all the way from her head to the tip of her tail. More often than not I would jump and pull my handaway from her little stump that was there. BUT she soon became my gorgeous Bonnie Bum and I would stroke her fur around where her tail was and no problem :Luv2:
The edge of it was sometimes red from her knocking it on furniture or rubbing against something but when I took her to see the vet he said it would not happen for too long and that it was ok. He was right, about a month down the road and I never saw any redness again.
Massive kiss and cuddle to him and I know you are gonna be worried sick on Monday so no need to say do not worry but just think that it won't be long before the guys are running around after each other and Astro will be getting the better of Zoon, you just wait and see :shocked: :hug:

I remember many moons ago when I took Smudge in for his teeth cleaning and he was in about 10.00 a.m. and I was phoning all afternoon and they finally agreed to let me pick him up about 4.00 p.m.
We all know that they have to recover from the anaesthetic and be ok for us to be able to get them back but it's such a long long wait. I think you should go out for the day and take lots of nice photos to keep you busy and take your mind off it for a bit.

As much as I would love to get Astrophe to Fitzpatrick's its a long way to go, nearly 300 miles and I couldn't leave him there.
I don't have my camera anymore Mary. I had to pawn it so I could get Astrophe to the vets and I don't think I will be able to get it back. I have to sell my laptop tomorrow so I can get Astrophe to the vet on Monday

Oh Andrew I am so sorry :hug: :hug: We all know that cats and dogs can have a very active and long life with only 3 legs or even less for that matter but it's hard when it's your own.
I remember when I first got Bonnie and she had just had her tail amputated it was so hard to look at it and not to be able to stroke her all the way from her head to the tip of her tail. More often than not I would jump and pull my handaway from her little stump that was there. BUT she soon became my gorgeous Bonnie Bum and I would stroke her fur around where her tail was and no problem :Luv2:
The edge of it was sometimes red from her knocking it on furniture or rubbing against something but when I took her to see the vet he said it would not happen for too long and that it was ok. He was right, about a month down the road and I never saw any redness again.
Massive kiss and cuddle to him and I know you are gonna be worried sick on Monday so no need to say do not worry but just think that it won't be long before the guys are running around after each other and Astro will be getting the better of Zoon, you just wait and see :shocked: :hug:

He was still climbing trees 17 years later and could leg it up stairs faster than I could, even when I was well. We had no problems with litter trays, eating or anything else.We didn't move furniture or help him onto things, it wasn't necessary. He took a while to regain weight - he really had been very poorly for a while - but seemed to know how to alter his leg position for better balance, right from the start. Astro will have slightly different tactics as it is his front leg, Chivvy's was his back leg.
Punky, his sister, did try to take over TopCat role for a while but Chivvy soon put her back in her place and things returned to normal.
People would often ask us 'Do you know that your cat's limping?' being unaware that he was a leg short :rofl:
I do hope that Astro comes to terms with things as quickly and easily as Chivvy did :hug:

It's not bothering him at all Mary. I did see him in the litter tray covering up and you could see his muscles from his missing leg, they were moving. He was trying to use his missing leg. That was quite sad otherwise he's the Hoolie he always was.

I ordered three as soon as Andrew posted the link. :naughty: 1 over the radiator in the hall downstairs (not directly above obviously) and 2 upstairs in the hall methinks. ;D I'm pretty handy with a drill. ;)
You will need to buy screws and wall plugs. 10 mm X 3 and a half inches.so you will need a 10mm masonry drill bits a good one not a cheapo
Get the hammer in, hammer through ones from local DIY. They're about 85p each. You'll need 6
