Title: Two Cats escaped from cattery in Leigh Surrey
Post by: caly_and_ody on August 14, 2014, 10:08:05 AM
Our two cats escaped from a cattery in Leigh in Surrey on Sunday night (10th August). Both are black british shorthairs and are two years old. Caly (the girl) is the smaller of the two and Ody (the boy) is a bit more approachable. We have notified the local vet and put up posters and flyers locally as well as going door to door. If anyone has any advise or information about these cats please post here or drop us a line at calyandody@outlook.com

Sorry to hear this has happened, my first suggestion would be get in touch with your local CP and get some cat traps set in the grounds of the cattery they may not have wandered far this would be a good start to try and get them home

What is the cattery doing?

The cattery are out searching the area on a daily basis as well monitoring the cctv they have attached to the cattery property.  They have also setup a humane cat trap near to the location where they went missing.  Think they are doing as much as they can to be honest.

I've contacted the local vets, cat protection facebook site as well as AnimalSearchUK and a couple of other sites similar to your own.  We've set some posters local to the area and going to do another flyer drop into nearby houses today.

Because its such a rural location, there are two farms just across the road from the cattery, its very hard to determine how far they would travel, but we are basing the search on a one kilometre radius from the cattery.

Am so sorry to learn that you've joined us in such anxious circumstances, and really hope that Caly and Ody will be reunited with you very quickly.  Am pleased to hear the cattery are being so helpful - that's not always the way, so credit to them.  All the same, the sooner you get your babies back the better.  Please keep us posted on how your search goes.

Both cats have now been found!! Caly was caught last week in a cat trap set out by the cattery a few hundred yards away from the cattery grounds, and Ody was reported by an owner of some stables yesterday that he was living in the rafters of the stable building.  Both been seen by the vet and given a clear bill of health.

Many thanks to all the well wishers on this site.  One thing I would say if you have also lost a cat - don't give up hope!!  Ours were missing for over a couple of weeks but seemed like an eternity!
