Title: Devil Mummy-cat and her feral kittens
Post by: Zenith (Liz) on July 22, 2014, 22:59:26 PM
Some time in June I got a phonecall from a friend saying she'd found a black feral cat and her 3 kittens (2 black and one grey) living in her garden under a hedge. She'd called in a panic as one of her dogs would happily kill a cat if he caught it so she needed a home for them and the rescue's were full.

Being the suckers we are my partner and I agreed to house them, so the rescue lent us two traps and we caught a very grumpy mum cat. Moved a pipe out of the way and found not three but 5 tiny hiss spitty kittens  :Luv: 3 black and 2 colourpoint!

They've been very expensive lodgers as all had/have ringworm.  Mum cat isn't really feral as she's friendly when we bring food in, and have tamed 4 of the kittens and their ringworm is clearing up.  One of the girl kittens is a proper grumpy feral but feliway is going and need to order zylkene.

The reason I call Mumcat devil cat is because she's sent me to hospital with severe cat bites and my partners legs were attacked and she has panic attacks going in their room now! We tested her and she's clear of FIV/FELV, just temperamental although she can be loving too.

Anyway you dont want to see me waffle on you just want pictures :)

Wow they are beautiful.  I don't know about mum being devil cat that black kitten looks pure evil . Is that the female one you mentioned?  You are very brave taking in these furry fiends.  I hope you can find good homes for them eventually.  ;D

Blimey Liz - they're gorgeous.  :Luv:  Although I agree - one of those kittens - the one with the red eyes - looks very tricky  :evillaugh:  Hope that in the end, love and affection will win all of these babies and their Mum round, and that the attacks will cease.  Well done you for taking them on, when no-one else was available to do so.

The colourpoints with the red eyes are softies, its just spitty Sid who gives us problems. Working on that if I go sloooooly she'll bat a piece of ham off my fingertip without claws - if she doesn't approve woe betide my skin

The problem is they have ringworm, we just had them retested hoping it was gone but the results are they still have it - at least there's no new stuff!

I had to bathe the kittens in Malaseb last night and the feral girl poo'd herself :( The others aren't as happy with me as they were either, but hope theyare clear of ringworm now.

Need to find homes for two of the black ones :(

Hi Mary!

Artie doesn't know they exist as they're quarantined in their own room.  Hope they can be released to play with the others soon :)
