Title: Hi All
Post by: Ambersmum on October 20, 2013, 11:34:46 AM
Hi all, I'm Vicky and currently slave to Amber.

We took Amber in as her previous owner could no longer keep her and she was heavily pregnant.  Poor thing is only about 6 months old herself  :'(

She gave birth to 5 kittens on 17th September, one of which we are going to keep

Looking forward to getting to know you all

Hi Vicky,
You must be living in a madhouse then with five one month old kittens running riot
Amber is lucky to have you and it's lovely you are keeping a kitten to keep her company, its always nice to try and home kittens in pairs so you would have had one left over!
I'm sure you will be on the ball with this, but to prevent another unplanned pregnancy you need to keep her in and get her spayed when her kittens are about 8 weeks old and fully weaned.
Our first foster was a pregnant queen who gave birth to her four kittens on my sofa in full view of everyone, that was a bit of a shock I can tell you as i'd been led to believe she would seek out a private corner...thank goodness for washable covers :Luv2:

Oh yes it's a madhouse here!!!

Thanks for the advice about getting her spayed, we plan for her and her daughter to be house cats anyway as you hear so many stories about nasty things happening to cats that I would worry too much if they went out!
