I'm numb with shock that this could happen. I feel it like he was one of my own as I've shared so much of his life through Purrs and know how well he is loved.

I slept badly last night. Woke with a teary pillow and all because of you, Ross. :'(
Ross, you silly boy, you put yourself in danger and your slaves are paying the price. :( You never felt a thing, bless your heart, but the hearts of those you leave behind regret your boldness. :(
You were so incredibly loved, and gave your whole being in return. There will never be another you, and your memory lives on in all your many Purrs fans. :hug:

Thanks ladies. It made me smile, but it also hurt.
I could see his face, a picture of polite innocence, and I remember how much I laughed. He came up to me and butted my leg and my hand with his head, because he knew I wasn't really cross, and that I loved him so very much. :Luv2:

Tomorrow will be another year which has slipped by.
This time of year is filled with the joy and the loss of him.
The loss, clearly, which still hurts like a fist clenched tight round my heart, but the joy of him too - the rich russets, golds and glory of the season all remind me of a life lived well, a heart full of love, the plump and the sleek of rich soft fur beneath my hand.
