Title: I've fallen in love !

Hi, this is only my second post but thought you'd be interested.

I signed up as a volunteer at our local Cats Protection shelter and my "job title" is cat-cuddler !  Did my first session last week and fell in love with Eddie a little old, bony cat with a thin raggedy white fur coat and a black/brown splodgy face.  As soon as I sat down in his "cage" he jumped onto my lap and started purring loudly, nuzzling my hand until I started massaging his ears.  It's so simple to add pleasure to a little creature's life.  He had been dumped outside the shelter when it was closed  :grrrrrr: :grrrrrr:

I'm tempted to take an extra-large handbag in with me next week so I can smuggle him out !  My old tabby Eric just would not tolerate him though, having been an only cat for 15 years.

Aww that's lovely. I think that is a very worthwhile job and will bring both you and the cuddled cats lots of pleasure. Long may the cuddling continue xx  :hug:

Where was that job on careers day! Brilliant stuff, and so fulfilling. I bet Eric wouldn't mind if Eddie just came to stay for a little while?  :evillaugh:

My old girl Pursley was determined to be the only queen in the house until Polly showed up, they're like old friends now. You might be surprised?  :hug:

What a shame Eric wouldn't tolerate him  :shy: Even the names sound good together - Eric & Eddie  :)

You'll just have to make him your 'favourite' cat at the shelter and slip him a few extra dreamies and chin rubs  :hug:

I used to have that job too  ;D

So easy to fall in love with one especially, in my case it was a very handsome fella who was very shy and retiring and others couldnt get close but I could and even thought about bring him with me when I moved but my cat Kocka hated other cats too.
