Title: Hello from a Newbie!
Post by: JPrickett on October 04, 2012, 20:34:18 PM
Hello from myself and our two mogsters Benji, a black and brown tabby who will be three in March and our new addition Lucy, an 18month old black/grey/brown tabby.

We found Lucy at our local RSPCA and re-homed her on 3rd October, she is still to meet Benji formally, whom we have had since he was 12 weeks old. I hope to get some advice about introducing our little lovelies to give them the best possible chance of being friends!

Looking forward to chatting with you all soon!

 :welcome: to Purrs Jenny  ;D

Glad you've found us, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.  It really is a very friendly forum with lots of friendly helpful advice, if ever needed, and of course lots of fun.

I do feel it my public duty to warn you though that it can be a teensy bit addictive  You have been warned  :evillaugh:

I've no experience of cat introductions myself (only ever had pairs) but there's lots on here that do and can hopefully give you some tips  ;D Benji is fab name, my childhood cat was called Beni and he was a tabby too  :)

:thanks: Sam, Janeyk, Jiji, Rosella, thekittensmittens and tiggsmum!

I look forward to chatting to you all!

I have looked at some of the threads, thanks Sam. I feel happier that the advice that is in those threads is more or less what we had planned to do! We will just have to see how it goes, I'm under no illusion that it's going to be a quick process!!

I have always been a cat lover, having grown up with cats. DH was brought up with dogs but was the one to suggest we got a kitty when a friend of his had some kittens for re-homing. Benji (called Tigger originally) was the only kitten left. He is just beautiful! He still is, I just love him. I will try and attach a picture of my little Benji Boodles when he was just 12 wks old (if I can)!

We have often talked about getting another cat from our local RSPCA but seem to have always talked ourselves of it. We call in every couple or months or so and take a look around the cattery. I am always pleased when I see so many cats already reserved when we visit. We visited on Saturday and we saw 18mth old 'Pudding' a cute, tiny, skinny little tabby cat. I think we both decided right away that we wanted her. So we picked her up on the 3rd Oct and we have renamed her Lucy. She is the fussiest little thing and settled into her new room straight away, I was so surprised! I will try and attach a picture of her also, it is one I took of her in her pod at the RSPCA.

So there is a little bit about us!
(With Pics I hope!)
