Title: Severe storm this weekend GET YOUR CATS IN
Post by: Beccles on November 24, 2006, 15:35:02 PM
The Met office says that most of the UK is going to get a real battering from a filthy great storm this weekend - it looks like the northeast and wales are going to get the worst of it but there's warning of flooding in the Midlands... sooo if you're in a flood-prone place pretty much anywhere in the country I reckon it'd be a good time to check your sandbags are in order. And get them moggies in - even the toughest puss is gonna struggle to stay warm and dry and safe if there's horizontal rain, trees falling over and the rest.  :(

Even now it's a bit wet & blowy where I am (NW England) but fortunately my lot don't seem to want to stay out more than a few seconds at a time. I think they're better at weather forecasting than the Met Office - if only they could talk!

It's absolutely foul out over here in Manchester - lol I have a feeling I may have lodgers tonight and tomorrow if the usual suspects turn up for a biscuit and a cuddle at bedtime. We were joined by a hedgepig the other night  :Luv:

Sonya any reason not to let her into yours - maybe shut her in the kitchen and let her dry off and take her home when her humans get back?

Oh dear wales gonna get some more rain .............is that really possible?

Not stopped raining hardly for 2 weeks or more, it is raining at moment but not much different to normal, wind also.

So pleased I decided I was too scared to travel back fron the supreme and to stay at home. Will put on tele now and see what they gotta say for themselves.

Thanks for the warning  :scared:

:Luv: good one Sonya I nearly had one of my neighbour's moggers overnight the other day - it was freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing and I could hear her crying to be let in from my bedroom so into my kitchen she went - fortunately the neighbour's naughty teenager and her boyfriend got back not long after so I popped Milkshakes (a good lesson in why never to let 8 year olds name cats) round then.

and... eeek Gill look after yourself won't you?

Angie - geddit fixed! You really really don't want a leaky roof when the temp drops below zero, trust me on this, icicles IN your house are really not fun.

I am glad I have just last week paid extra on the buildings insurance for any roof repairs immediately. I think the insurance company arrange for the repair within 24 hrs. Also if the worst comes to the worst one of my husbands trainees is a fully qualified builder/roofer  and will always come out in an emergency so hopefully one way or another we would be OK if the worst came to the worst

I would also like to add that anyone that has rabbits that live outside make sure that they are secured/moved into Garage/House if possible.

We have a grey, drizzly sky. So no change there then for this time of the year!

We had more terrible rain last night and in Carmarthen the river has broken its banks and its steaming through Carmarthen in a very high muddy torent earlier today. Not broken banks within the town but all the surrounding fields are under water.

We have already had more rain today but its at nightvwhen we are really getting hit.

I daren't say, we have had another lovely day, perhaps the lull before the storm.
