Hi I am looking for a indoor pensioner cat, dont mind if its male or female. could probably take two if they get on. I live in a two bedroomed flat in Kenilworth and the ladies who live below me have cats but its just not the same as your own. I used to have two cats when I lived in a house many moons ago, since then have been contemplating kittens but think seniors much more acceptable and loving. I have a balcony which overlooks the back garden although I live two flights up, I am retired now but work from home so am there most of the time and my only hiccup I have is that I have no transport to come and fetch the cats as I have a physical disability which prevents me from driving although I can get about and go uptown shopping etc. :thanks:

Hi and welcome to Purrs :welcome:
I have sent a message to Coventry cat group (one of the rescues we support) as they are near you and may be able to find you the purrfect cat(s). I am not sure if they have any pensioner cats in need of rehoming but very much hope you are able to find the right cat to share your home with :) You may prefer to contact them direct. This is their website.....

Hi and thanks for the info have been on their site and filled in a form. Just asking really you do fund raising dont you as I am a crafter and make cards etc, which I give to charities to raise funds. Perhaps you could let me have some details of the sort of fund raising you do and I can put together some cards and send them to you and see if you would like some more to raise funds for PURRS
-
We run an auction each year around November so purrhaps you could auction your cards for the Purrs Auction? :wow:
Here is a link to last year's to give you a flavour .............

We adopted two indoor oldies a couple of years ago and they're fantastic. Kittens are great but they're more demanding than an older cat - and I do love the characters of older cats! We have a cat tree and a radiator bed for ours so they have their own spaces.
Just one question - you say you don't drive so I'm wondering what you'd do if your cats needed to go to the vet. Not that this should stop you from adopting, it's just something to bear in mind.

The vets are down the road from where I live, about a couple of roads away and they have told me if I cant get there they will come to me

Hi, hopefully Judith will have been in touch. If she hasn't she will soon - she has a huge household and sundays are quite busy for her.
I suppose for us if you are renting, we will need to ensure you can have cats there and also that the balcony is safe.

Hi - Welcome to Purrs :welcome: and thanks for your enquiry to Coventry Cat Group. I have just spotted Angie's email with this link whilst I am munching my sandwiches before cooking a meal for 10 or more.
I will reply via the form you have sent in to the Co-ordinator - me!
Thanks again. Judith :thanks:

In reply to your message, the balcony is safe as I grown my veggies on it at the moment my greenhouse is on it and rose bushes but it can be netted up to stop pets , although I am renting at the moment I have put in to purchase the flat hopefully in the next few months completion will be through as its viable for me to live here and my bills are reasonable, save me having to do gardening, just love balcony gardening but your most welcome to come and see around my flat anytime

Good luck Digimate. I hope you have your furry friends very soon. I'm sure you will - so many senior puds out there. Great to see someone who wants them. X
-
I do hope it all works out for you and you have your pussies soon I too am unable to drive now and wouldn't have been able to have my present cat if it hadn't been for my wonderful vet who said that they will always come to me
Looking forward to hearing how you get on
Peggy

As agreed with Tan when a rehoming thread is 'sorted and moved' it's locked Gill so the thread doesn't continue with updates in sorted , although I used to leave them open a couple of days for comments but it was very rare anyone posted so I started to lock them. Then someone once asked me to keep them open a while so I went back to that but then they never posted on them! but I do tend to keep them open a few days now, however it's at my discretion really and as there will be a new thread for this very shortly (hopefully) this thread is now closed ;D
(eta: just go down the list of threads in sorted sections and see how many have posted after I've moved them.)
-
i think when a member of purrs has taken on a cat the thread should be left for people to comment if they want.
i agree that when its just a normal sorted where no member is really involved then they should be closed.
its quite obvious on this thread that people wanted to comment and others rather than just mods should be able to.
if you dont want comments in sorted then leave them where they are for a week.
