Title: Hello
Post by: HelenD on October 06, 2011, 16:21:47 PM
Hello,

I already sort of introduced myself on the Health forum, but thought I should be polite and pop in and say hello here too!

I actually found this page after googling issues with hyperthyroid cats (which is why I jumped in on the Health boards first!) as I have a 14yr old Ginger madam who's not very well at the moment :/

Its so nice to be able to talk about things with people who 'get it' when it comes to our furry feline friends, and their often fussy ways! :D

I'm not sure how much help I'll be, but I'll do my best!

Helen (and Schmoo)
xx

I think you will be amazed how easy it is to help cos when you have a cat, your experiences are often helpful to others  ;D

Welcome to Purrs Helen!

I can echo what Gill said above, all experiences are useful - even (or sometimes especially!) the funny ones!

Hope Schmoo is better soon.

Hello Helen - welcome to you and Schmoo.  Am so sorry to hear that Schmoo is having problems with hyperthyroidism.     Is always a worry when our beloved babies are getting older.  We all have a huge fondness for our golden oldies here.  Hope you can get the issues resolved, and have fun on the forum.

Ooh well I will definitely keep an eye out for that then! 'TV Dinner' is Schmoo to a complete T, it has me in stitches every time :)

LOL thanks re her name - I cant even remember how we came up with it now!

We're still waiting to hear back from the vets, but in herself shes actually acting pretty normal - aside from sleeping a bit more - if thats even possible!

Shes just looking horribly thin at the moment, as shes been off the thyroid meds a week now but we cant try any different foods until the vet gets back to us about the liver results....! Hoping to hear back soon though :)
