Hello all,
I am desperately trying to re-home my cat Barney. He is neutered and vaccinated and micro-chipped.
I currently live in Coventry and I am moving down south with my children on Friday and I cannot take him with me, i have asked all my friends and family and no-one can help me, i have also contacted Cov Cats, Cats Protection and RSPCA and all are fully booked up at the moment and cannot help me either.
I am at a loss where to go next, he is a wonderful family pet who has been brought up in a loving home with small children, he loves nothing more than a good fuss and to cuddle up on the sofa.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE if you can offer him a home i would be over the moon and so would Barney.
Thank you
Natalie :( :( :( :(

Hi and welcome, (I've moved your thread here which may help, and added the area to the title)
I presume you've tried family/friends etc? if not it's always wise to go through a rescue so proper checks can be done and the right home found. I know your pushed for time.
There may be some rescues you've not tried here, do go through the lists and stress how urgent this is:

or here:

Hopefully one will be able to help
Best of luck!

Hello Jenny,
Thank you so much for your help and advice. I have left messages at both of those organisations you kindly suggested. Fingers crossed something will turn up soon and I can find Barney a loving new home! :Luv:
Thank you again

Hi Natalie, do check my message if you click on the 2 links they are 2 list of lots of rescues in your area, (not just 2 rescues) and you may need to contact quite a few to get one which can help you.

Friday isn't far, what will you don't if you don't find anything, where are you moving to in the south?
-
I have been trying to find him a home for 6 weeks, this is our last week before moving and still can't find anyone who can offer him a home. We are moving near Brighton, but cannot take him with us as I am a single mum with 3 kids and am moving on my own and moving into our new home on my own too. Really need to rehome him here before I go.

Homing is really slow in Coventry at the moment and sadly we, as always, are overloaded and (speaking personally) quite desperate to get my numbers down.
Have you spoken to your new landlord? Perhaps they will allow you to home from your new home if you explain the circumstances?
-
Hi Angie,
My new Landlord has sympathised with my situation but is unwilling to change his policy on no animals, even if it is for a short period of time.
I am so upset, Barney is so beautiful and just needs a home he can roam around in and have lots of cuddles, but as he isn't a cute kitten anymore, no one seems interested?
Thank you for all your help though,
Will keep my fingers crossed and I am literally ringing every rehoming number on the cat chat website.
Thank you again

Just a very outside chance but Ron at Lost cats Brighton may be the man to speak to as you are moving there and he is a rescue he also does all his own fund raising so maybe offering a donation may help
-
:thanks:
Thank you Liz, thats a very good option if I cannot find anything in Coventry.
Thank you again

If Ron is unable to help - you could get in touch with the National Cat Centre of Cats Protection to see if they would take Barney in.
They are in Haywards Heath so not too far from Brighton. and if they were able to the cat would have to be transported to Haywards Heath.
Anyhow perhaps worth a telephone call:
