I am so very delighted to announce this year's Special Prize is awarded posthumously to that most handsome of blue eyed boys; Franta Napoleon. He had 4 pics in the semi finals. If you added together all his votes in the semis, he had far more than anyone else but sadly they were split almost evenly across all the pictures. By very happy coincidence ;D , his slave Gill has been the organiser of all previous Purrs Cat Shows :hug: :hug: :hug: :hug:

It's never easy voting in the Purrs Cat Show :loon: and this year was certainly no different to previous years. The voting was utterly impossible as usual :agree:

Hi everyone,
Being a half owner of Tommy I don't really know what to say :)
I thought all the cats were great and it is a real priviledge to have won the competition :wow:
Although Sylvia and I never mentioned this, Tommy is actually very ill at present. At 18 years of age he is definately on the ninth of his nine lives.
Back in May he was hit by flystrike whilst Sylvia and I were on holiday. We had to come back from holiday early because our cat sitter had rushed him to the vets who had to carry out an operation.
Tommy just is not recovering from it and has a serious infection that the antibiotics don't seem to touch.
He has had very bad diarrhea ever since but surprizingly he still is his old self even though he has a very sore bottom.
Our vet now thinks Tommy may have pancreatitis and we are about to do further blood works that has to be sent to the USA since the labs here can't test for it.
Anyway I am sure Tommy is going to be very proud of his rosette and will be very pleased by the toys Sylvia plans to buy him with his winnings.
We hope that he is going to recover and will keep you informed of his progress.

Having loads of abs can cause bad diarrhea , why dont you try some probiotics with him like Lacto B, just a very fine powder that you mix with food.
It took a few months of it to get Napoleon OK again.
Tommy is a very worthy winner ;D

That's the Purrs spirit at it's absolute best :) It might have quiet periods and lulls but when the chips are down Purrs people always come up trumps. I'm very proud to be part of it :)

So sorry Tommy is so poorly ( i love the gingers ) . Have you tried Avipro plus - its similar to Lacto B but with extra vitamins in . You can add it to his food or dilute in a little water and give it with a syringe to drink from .Its worked well on all my oldies (13- 17 years old )

:thanks: for nice comments everyone. Have to say, I took this on with some trepidation :shify: but eventually got into the swing of it. Didn't quite realise how much time it would take up and have to admit to threatening to emigrate at one point :innocent: :evillaugh: but my trusty guides kept me on board :) and I can't tell ya how delighted I am with the total we all raised together. as soon as I can I will -she is boarded atm as we are in Devon on hols -she is lookes after very well as are the others by 2 vet nurses I've worked with in the past but she is a mummy's girl and will be happy to get home no doubt

you might like to ask vet if he could have Peridale granules added to food to bulk him out and solidify the runs -if they can't get it to use Normacol granules from any chemist -it does work

she is such a sweetheart - our bluto was about 4 weeks when oh picked him us as a feral kitten 20 years ago - its wonderful to see such tiny scraps grow up

Sorry to have taken so long in getting back to you, but I just wanted to give a big thank you to everyone for your well wishes for Tommy :thanks:
Tommy says that he never expected to win anything :shocked: but he would like to send furry headbutts and purrs to all who liked his photo :cat rub:
I just adored all the kitties who entered the show, and it just goes to prove that Purrs kitties are the best :Luv: :Luv2:
I had to take Tommy to the vet again this morning for yet more blood tests, and he was such a good boy :)
I so hope that he will be feeling better soon.

I will have to answer for Franta Napoleon as being on the Bridge he has a bit of difficulty chatting but I am sure he is well over the moon as I am and to see his beautiful blue eyes gazing at me..............he is so missed.

Just wanted to say that the cheque arrived safely today and to say thank you again to everyone who entered and raised so much money. We've had some poorly kittens and a big vet bill for a poor girl who'd been mauled very badly by a dog so the money will be very welcome. Tommy is a worthy winner and I hope he feels better soon, sending him special snuggles xxxx
