Title: Diabetic cat posted on CatChat - URGENT (Now in rescue)
Post by: JackSpratt on June 18, 2011, 22:12:36 PM
Someone posted as they are very concerned about a cat on one of those sites.... :tired:

They sent me the link and it's as follows:

"BELL IS A LOVELY BLACK CAT ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD. HE SADLY HAS DIABETES AND WE CANT LOOK AFTER HIM ANYMORE AS I HAVE WORK EVERYDAY AND MY KIDS GO TO SCHOOL SO WE DONT HAVE MUCH TIME FOR HIM. HE NEEDS HIS INJECTIONS ONCE EVERYDAY AND WE WILL HAVE SOME SPARE TO START YOU OFF. HIS POO DOES SMELL DIFFERENT TO OTHER CATS BUT ITS NOTHING SOME LITTER FRESHENER CANT FIX.

HE'S ALWAYS BEEN A FAMILY CAT, GETS ON WITH OTHER CATS AND IS VERY PLAYFUL. HE'S VERY GOOD WITH CHILDREN AND OTHER ANIMALS AND WE NEED HIM RE HOMED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE OTHERWISE SADLY HE'S GOING TO BE PUT DOWN..

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL AND ASK QUESTIONS, WERE BASED IN TOOTING WE COULD DROP HIM OFF OR YOU COULD PICK UP. WERE BASED IN TOOTING. ITS A VERY SAD GIVE AWAY AS WEVE HAD HIM SINCE A KITTEN BUT HE DESERVES A BETTER LIFE WITH SOMEONE THAT HAS MORE TIME..

LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU.."

Are there any rescues that have a space for Bell? Or anyone looking for a special needs cat at all? I'll look in the homes offered but thought I'd post here first.

I agree with Michelle, what a load of rubbish! It seems that some people don't want to devote any time to their pets, once there are any problems. Makes you wonder how they would cope if one of their kids got diabetes.. >:(

Someone on Cat Chat is offering him a rescue place.  The problem is the advertiser just isn't replying.  So annoying!

Has anyone tried phoning, do you know?

Someone said they had "called", so I think so.  Might try a text and see if that works.

How strange that they're not making much of an effort to speak to all these potential homes that are contacting them :shy: Really hope someone can help him, I saw on Cat Chat that a rescue has offered him a place :crossed:

I have just read on CC that this little man is now in a rescue and away from the owners. He needs veterinary attention and is older than originally thought.

Thank God for that. Poor little guy. Thank God he's in a place where they'll take proper care of him.
