These are my two girls ~ Tess & Jem ~ aged 8 & 9.

 :evillaugh: Yes, and believe it or not they have both lost weight! When we took them from the shelter a year ago Tess had been kept locked in a bedroom for 4 years as she didn't like the family dog (They decided to get a terrier when tess was 3!) so was diagnosed with agraphobia but with excercise and a weight control diet she is now weighing just(!) 14lb! Despite her weight she is so agile and sprightly and can jump on windowsills etc without a problem! Jem the other cat is very big boned (the vet says she is really dense and has a good bone structure) and she is 17lb! The weight of a small dog! She loves to play but the weight must like her as it doesn't drop off! She is very health though and again agile so little by little we're making progress!

Thanks for the lovely comments ~ you think my kitties are big, take a look at this one I saw on the net yesterday ~ I'd like to think that the owners are considering a diet for this portly puss before it;s too late.

I am glad that they are losing weight, I have yet another one that needs to lose weight now. They are gorgeous girls though.

Some of those pictures where the cat is lying on its back are deceptive.  Once I get the network up in my house I'll try and post some pictures of Bacardi.  I have one where hes laying on my lap where he totally looks like that picture you found on the web Tabitha, but hes really not!  Both of my cats have some loose skin on their bellies, so when they lay on their back, Bacardi in particular spreads!  :rofl:  I think hes a special design for belly rubbing.
