He went out as usual last night and hasn't been back. Very worried as he rarely spends the night out in garden. 4 possible sightings but none have been him. Could hear him meowing at 1am this morning but nothing since. Am worried something has happened to him and he cant get home. The not knowing is the worst thing and i have been upset all day.

Hi Lucy and :welcome: to Purrs
sorry to welcome you under such worrying circumstances
As it was only last night that Simba went out I think it is still early days for you
Have you tried Sam's useful tips:

It may sound obvious but are you leaving some food outside for Simba?
Please keep us posted of developments
Come home soon Simba your mum is worried about you
:where:
-
I hope you hear him meowing tonight and if so nip out quick and get him
-
Sorry Simba is missing, hopefully he's back home by now or will be very soon
-
We found him thank god. In a garden down the road, a few cuts and scrapes but looks fine.
Brought him home and he's been eating non stop, now asleep where he belongs in his cat bed.
-
that's wonderful news
do you know what happened to him?
-
He's got out again this time missing for 36 hours the longest yet really upset and worried.
-
Oh he sounds like a little tinker! lol. How old is he and has he been neutered?
-
He's 2 years old and no he isn't neutered. Coming up to 2 days now and i'm very upset and worried.
-
Ahhh I think that's your problem hun .... that fact that he is a mature un-neutered boy means he is out either looking for love or fighting to keep his territory.
I would keep going out and calling him and as soon as he comes home you need to keep him in and get him to the vets immediately to be neutered otherwise this will be an ongoing problem.
Once he has been neutered it's advisable to try and keep him in for as long as you can as he will still have hormones in his system and he will stillhave the urges to fight and mate for at least 6 or so weeks. The benefits of having him neutered really do speak for themselves http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,4787.0.html
I am keeping everything crossed that the little lad is back home soon and then you can get him off for the snip ;)
-
What makes it worse is we lost our other cat a few months back to a car. So to go from 2 to suddenly no cats in the house is very upsetting. The not knowing is what is making me so upset.
-
 I totally understand hun. It's amazing how much a small furry independant little creature like a cat can so completely and utterly take over our lives and emotions. Your boy knows where he lives but sadly the pull of his hormones will be over ruling all his desires to come home and curl up with you.
Have you got posters out and have you seen the list of hints and tips?http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.0.html

Getting posters out tomorrow and been ringing round vets and rspca but not much luck as it's sunday. I just have this horrible feeling that
something bad has happened. I've missed him being on my bed the past 2 nights.
-
HI Lucy hun Has Simba come home? I hope he is back and sleeping on ya bed again.
-
:( I do hope that Simba is a home. Please get him neutured once he's homeLucy because this will keep happening there's so many reasons that they should be neutured.

Me thinks naughty Simba is out looking for females !
Hope he is home soon....AND THEN NEUTER the little monster xx
