Title: Mum and 3 newborn kittens in Dublin, Ireland (Sorted)
Post by: wharfevalley catsprotection on August 19, 2010, 19:38:26 PM
I posted this a while ago and urged my friend to cat nap the cat and get her neutered. She didn't and now the cat has given birth to 3 kittens who are around a week old. The cat is supposed to 'belong' to a violent neighbour (which is why she hasn't wanted to get involved) , but she will end up with a feral colony on her hands.

It's lashing down with rain, but just will not take them into the house (she has other cats). When I say that she's a friend, she's an aquaintence and I can't really do anything from Leeds!

Is there anyone in that kind of area who may be able to help? She's willing to bring them to a rescue if they have a space

You could try contacting nessa (A C S ) - I know she is rescue and based in Cork. I don't know if that is far from Dublin. (although with a surname like Brennan, you would think I should know  :evillaugh: )

I was lucky as I couldn't remember her name. I was going through all the list of members looking for a green dot  :evillaugh:

Her name caught my eye luckily as she hasn't got a green dot  :shify:

Hi Janey - i'm not sure, looks like probably not....

I've asked her to move them into the dry shed with a blanket, food and water. She's going to take them to the vets in a couple of weeks for a de-flea and de-worm and then get the mum cat spayed after that. She may be willing to take a couple of the kittens i they settle with her ow cats and i've asked her to socialise the kittens as much as she can so they don't turn semi feral. In the meantime i've asked her to contact every rescue centre listed on CC near her - why do people wait??? I told her this would happen, but telling people doesn't make them listen does it?!

I'll keep updating and contact Nessa as well - thanks you guys!

Hi Sarah,

Thank you so much for this - I will ask her. The last time I spoke to her, she was looking to keep all the kittens and mum cat if her own cat accepts them.

I'll pass on the details and thanks again!

Jen

Can this topic be moved to sorted - i've passed on Veggie-Purrs details, but the lady is fairly smitten and has arranged neutering and vet checks with a mind to keeping mum and kittens!
