Title: Indoor home needs a cat (or two) - Manchester/NW (Sorted)
Post by: Beccles on March 05, 2010, 12:03:43 PM
Hiya guys, I'll be explaining my absence properly later on but a nice one for now: one of my Personal Assistants (carer type person) has completely fallen in love with Letty, Daffy and Figaro and now would like to offer a home to a cat or two herself.

Narda lives in South/Central Manchester in a medium sized house. As she's fairly near a busy road this is definitely an indoor home and she's looking for a mog or two who won't mind her being out in the day (but only till 3ish) and who will be happy to have lots, and lots, and lots of cuddles - lap-cats only need apply! Narda's daughters are 6 and 13 but the 6 year old is the quietest calmest most cat-respectful kid I've ever met - she's spent the od day here with her mum and my rabble loved her.

I'll be helping Narda collect the new cats and reckon I can manage up to about 40 miles each way so west Derbs etc. wouldn't be a problem.

Narda reckons cats a similar age to my lot or a little bit younger would be ideal, so roughly 1 to 4 years old or thereabouts?

Cheers folks - it's good to be back!

Hello,
I think Molly & Albert sound like they fit the bill brilliantly. You can read all about them at this link.

They currenty live in Leeds, but I would be more than happy to bring them to Narda. What is the best way to do this? Should I bring them over a for a little visit if Narda is interested and she and her children could have a stroke and a cuddle and see what they think?

thanks
philippa

Hi Philippa, this really does sound perfect. I think the next thing is probably to get Narda to contact you herself - she's in tomorrow so I'll show her then - and then you guys can work things out from there. I'm more than happy to help with transport - it is after all my fault that Narda has fallen in love with cats!

Her little girl is 6 and the bigger one is 13. I've not met the teenager but the little one's absolutely lovely and was really really really good with my cats (who are themselves Cat Chat/Purrs kittens). I see her 3-4 days a week so will be able to provide updates and pics if you wanted.

 I'm so sorry you're having to rehome them, I can barely imagine how hard it would be.

Thank you so much. It is the hardest thing I've ever had to do and is properly heartbreaking, but as long as they can find home and be loved that is the main thing.

They both get on really well with children, but especially Molly, who is so maternal and will always want to be in the same room as any children in the house.

If Narda wants my phone number or me to call her just let me know.

Thanks again.

Hi Philippa, Narda's just come in after a bit of time off sick and she's thrilled to bits. I'm going to send you a private message now, with her phone number so that you can get in touch. I'll do everything I can to help this work out, including help with driving if needs be. Depending how you feel I'd be happy to kep you well supplied with photos and updates, if you want.

No this is not sorted at all this family have not yet found a cat. Please can someone move it back?

What does seem to be sorted is the lady in Leeds looking for a home for her cats but that is a completely different thread.

Oops sorry - what I meant was that I hoped that she'd decided to keep them instead and that they didn't need a home any more. Narda is still waiting for her perfect cat to find her. :)

Delighted to let you know that Narda and her family have now found a cat - the lovely Smudge, who turned up lost and starving on the doorstep of a friend in Derbyshire. We brought him home last night - he's lovely and I wish him many wonderful years with Narda and her girls.  :Luv:
