Title: Louie - handsome boy needing a new home - Alfreton, Derbyshire HOMED
Post by: JackSpratt on February 26, 2010, 09:50:54 AM
Louie is approximately 18 months old and is a semi longhaired pure black tom. He's playful once he gets to know you but the current carers believe he has been abused previously as he can be quite intimidated by sudden movements.

Louie has had all his vaccinations but is currently unneutered, so that cost should be taken into account if you are thinking of offering him a home. He's being rehomed as he seems very nervous of the youngsters in his current home and the people caring for him feel he'd be happier in an environment with older children. (Or with just adults.)

If you can help, please PM me. :)

can't get my head around apparently caring current owners trying to rehome an 18 month old unneutered tom

why on earth don't they get him done now, like in the next few days?

it doesn't make sense to me

People have different ideas about caring - I know someone who told me if he only had male cats he'd not get them "done." He got scowled at a lot by me and his partner. ;) (They have two female cats and a male; all have had  their ops. I think that's down to his partner.... :))

Farewell, furballs! Honestly, with all the possible negatives of having an unneutered tom and how quick and easy the op is I really don't understand why anybody would persuade themselves that it's beter not done. Grr. I've a friend over in Matlock so would be happy to help with transport if a home pops up in the NW - just in case that influences anybody reading who are wondering if this is the chap for them.

 :Luv:  he is lovely

why would anyone keep an un-neutered Tom, their house must stink!!!!

I got Oscar done on Mon, he was in 4hrs, no stitches & was racing round as soon as he got home!!!

you will feel so much happier Louie when the furries are gone  ;)

Not all un neutered toms spray, that's a common misconception. And in all fairness, Louie has only lived with them a few weeks but it's obvious he's not happy round their young child apparently.

They might not spray JS, but the urine is very pungent, I took on a cat that a vet had said was neutered, and it was obvious he wasn't after just one wee - and he only had one testicle. IT is a shame they aren't giving him longer to see if he will adjust to the child though.

What a hunk!
Should think most people with entire toms dont see much of them! They are too busy wandering, fighting and dicing with their lives  :(

Thanks Desley I wasn't aware of that because all the cats in our home are usually spayed or neutered. (Always if they're ours, usually if they're staying here temporarily.)

Louie has apparently gone to a loving new home. His former carer apologised for not updating but her PC has been out of action.
