For one of Nickys cats to go to the same people who took on Sam and Tom. (RIP) I'm informed that it's a little black female who needs to get to her new home. ;)
-
We could probably help - depending when it is :)
-
Burnley is easy for me to do a pickup and take to M6 corridor somewhere. From there it will be best to go down M6 and M1 to Northampton.
Would have to be a weekend for me - well, next weekend really as I am away the following weekend and it's a bit quick this weekend. :)
-
Thanks guys. :)
-
So how much more distance needs covering?
-
Depends on what Janeyk can do. :)
-
Sootyca if you're going down the M6 you're actually bypassing us as we would be going M1
-
Whereabouts on the M1 are you? It's the easy route to do the M65/M6/M1 to Northampton but can always change it. :)
-
Whereabouts on the M1 are you? It's the easy route to do the M65/M6/M1 to Northampton but can always change it. :)
OH says that is the quicker route too but if no one else can do part of that route then we could meet you at Barnsley J36 or J37 and go to Nottingham (I think this route would mean you won't have to go as far as the other one too) but then just needs someone to do last leg from Nottingham to Northampton? :-:
-
You guys are AMAZING! :) I shall get the contact number for the the people currently caring for little girl and pass it on to Sootyca. Who do I need the Northampton number for?
-
If we can get someone to do Nottingham onwards then that should cover it but need to know which day as we've got someone coming on Saturday so will get them to change the day if need be but need to know asap please.
-
If no-one else can do either M6-Northampton or Nottingham-Norhtampton I will do the full run to Northampton as it will only add an extra 30 minutes onto the journey each way. Moira usually helps out in this area but I know she posted yesterday that she had had a stressful time recently so don't really want to bother her.
-
So Sootyca, you'd fill in the last bit? That's wonderful. The contact details for Pumpkin I can pass on, but am having trouble getting hold of the info for this little one.
The newest update is that it is in fact a male, too! He was locked in a garage and is around 15 months.
-
I'd prefer not to do it all (it's a 6 hour round trip!) but if there is no other option then I will do.
Can someone check that both cats will be okay to travel this Saturday?
-
Will do a request on Facebook.
-
Sorry I missed this before now .... I can do Nottingham to Northampton. Please let me have the details.
I can meet you at J24 of the M1
-
I am sending you such big hugs, Lady! :)
-
So who needs the beginning and end contact numbers? :)
-
So do you want us to do the J36/37 to Nottingham?
-
I'll need the house number, postcode and telephone number for Northampton please (so sat nav can find it's way). And phone number and ETA from whoever is coming to Nottingham.
I suggest that whoever is coming to Nottingham comes off the Motorway at J24 then takes 2nd exit off the roundabout (A6 to Loughborough) and there is a layby about 100yrds from the exit that we can meet in.
-
Am waiting for the Northampton address. :)
-
Edd's just pointed out that people on here might not know two cats are part of this transport run and I've just realised this might make a difference to the situation for Sam.
If so, could there be two transport runs? Or will that be too costly for people? (I do understand that it's not cheap to run a car. ;))
-
Are the two cats going to the same place? If so I should be able to get two carriers in the car .... one may have to go in the foot well
-
Hi Sam
The other cat is pumkin who is going to Banstead in surrey:
http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,30676.0.html
The suggestion made was to transport both cats - this one to its new home in Northampton and to meet up with me so I can take Pumpkin for the final leg to Banstead, Surrey.
-
Oh Ok ... yeah that seems OK to me .... I'm sure I'll be able to squeeze two carriers in the front seat. ;)
-
That great Sam.
So would we be able to meet at J15a Northampton Services (Southbound) for me to collect Pumpkin?
Then all I need is the ETA for Northampton - It will take around 2 hours for me to get to Northampton.
:thanks:
-
Right, by my reckoning:
Pickup - M1 Barnsley area (Jct 36 or 37) - Sootyca - let me know which is easiest junction and where as I haven't a clue where anything is round there - I'm an M6 girl!
M1 Barnsley - M1 (Jct24) Nottingham - Janeyk
Nottingham - Northampton - Sam (Fussyfurball)
Sam will then take this one to his new home and meet up with Edd to get Pumpkin on her way for the final leg of the journey.
Easy this transport lark!
The only other thing to query is cat carriers....I only have one and it would need to come back with me. Is there any chance that the kitties would travel in their own carrier all the way and the carrier stay at the destination or do I need to go shopping for a cat carrier tomorrow and change them over enroute?
I would be *hoping* to have them both collected and be on the way by about 9am - this would get me to M1 about 10.30am all being well.
Are we okay for this Saturday? Have the current kitty fosterers and new kitty owners been checked with to make sure Saturday is okay for them?
-
No problem with us for Saturday but - can't meet at Barnsley junction until 2pm, is that ok?
-
No problem for me, posted approx times on other thread. Edd just a bit concerned over the timing for the last leg.
-
Hi
If Sam is OK to stop off at Junction 15a Northampton services to transfer pumpkin to me and then deliver this cat to its new home in Northampton afterwards, I can be at the transfer point at around 4pm.
Looks like we have a plan - well done everyone ;D
Do we need sam to confirm that timings are ok with her?
So have I got this right:
Pickup - M1 Barnsley area (Jct 36 or 37) - Sootyca - arrive Barnsley 2pm approx
M1 Barnsley - M1 (Jct24) Nottingham - Janeyk - arrive Nottingham 3pm approx
Nottingham - Northampton Jct 15a Southbound- Sam (Fussyfurball) to transfer Pumpkin to Edd - arrive Northampton 4pm approx
Northampton - - Sam (fussyball) take this cat to new home
-
Saturday OK for me. I have a carrier that I could put the Northampton kitty in (I would then be able to drop him off and bring the carrier home with me. If pumpkin could go in a carrier that isn't too big then she can travel in the footwell of the passenger seat (I've only got a two seater car! LOL).
Janey if you pick up at Barnsley at 2 then I guess you'll be with me about 3'ish. I have had a bit of a think and it's probably easier if we meet at Donnington Park Services (J23a) ..... You will need to come off the motorway at J24 then take the A453 towards East Midlands Airport. I think it's the 4th exit off the motorway at J24. http://www.motorwayservices.info/area.php?area=13&show=map
Edd it'll take me about 1½ hours to get to you so I'm guessing an ETA of about 4:30 approx.
-
Yep that's fine we know those services at Donnington Sam so we'll meet you there :)
-

Excellen :) ....
Sent everyone a pm with my contact details. I'm going out tomorrow evening for my Birthday so won't be online ;)
-
Sam - that's fine
See you at Junction 15a Northampton service southbound around 4.30pm
I will bring a travelling basket with me for Pumpkin to go in, just in case people want the basket she comes in back. Will pm you my mobile etc
Have a great birthday :)
-
Excellent. We just need to make sure the Northampton lady is okay having her cat on Saturday and that I can pick both of them up on Saturday morning!!!!
Have a wonderful birthday night out Sam.
-
I'm so sorry guys, there's still a break down in communication on this one. As soon as I hear anything I'll post on here. Pumpkin, however is all set for her new home.
Thanks again.
-
:-:
-
I know. It would help if there had been communication properly beforehand I think. ;) Have spoken to the lady in Burnley and can not message her phone number. Sam, will message you the phone numbers for the Northampton couple because the Burnley lady is now contacting them herself directly....are you confused yet? ;)
-
Hurrah! Managed to get a picture sent directly to the couple via a mobile. This little boy is also off as planned.
Good work you guys! Have asked both new homes to join Purrs to update you all.
-
all information received .... Bit miffed that this little one is actually going to Desborough, Kettering and NOT Northampton but we shall get him there :-:
-
Sorry Sam. I had no idea of the exact address until today and to be honest I rely heavily on Nickys information which can be hit and miss most of the time.
Will email Nicky and give her a geography lesson.... :tired:
-
Have we sorted out thecat carrier situation - I can bring 2 carriers but will need them back.
-
Little Guy has his own carrier. :)
-
That's good. Do we know whether Pumpkin has as well? I can find out when I ring otherwise. Trying to sort out the best route and who gets collected first. I was hoping to do this guy first and then Pumpkin as she may have a longer journey but looking at the map it looks like a quicker journey collecting Pumpkin first.
-
I have two carriers so we can do a bit of cat swapping in your car Janey and we should be OK if Edd brings his carrier for Pumpkin.
-
okey dokes :)
-
Have sent a message asking earlier Sootyca. Will call after my tea if there's no response.
-
I've left her a message on her voicemail so just waiting for aresponse. Sorted out a pickup for the other cat (who is now being collected first all being well!) and is a lot closer to me than I was expecting which is good. :)
-
Hi
I will bring a travelling basket with me for Pumpkin to go in, just in case people want the basket she comes in back.
:)
-
Getting confused with my cats now! All sorted for this one - he is nearer me than first thought so will be my first pickup. The lady who has Pumpkin is travelling to the motorway junction to meet me so I don't have to find my way through the houses. :)
-
Have pm'd you Sootyca :)
-
Looks like we are all set now then. Safe journey everyone andlook forward to seeing Janey and Edd tomorrow
-
Thanks everyone, hope the transport run goes well.
-

It does, and from me too :) Will see you about 2ish Sootyca and Sam about 3ish
-
you guys are fantastic - hope all goes well and there are two happy puds in their new homes tonight
-
First leg done safely and me back home. Felt awful though as the vets where I picked him up from don't know anything about him and he went travelling without a name. Travelled like a sweetie though - and he was much better when Pumpkin was moved to the front of the car instead of being next to him. In fact, I stopped at what point at a services to check he was okay!!
-
If it's any help, I'm informed by his new owners he'll be called Bilbo. ;)
-
:) I was actually told he hadn't eaten much in the morning - presumably because he was at a vets and scared. He travelled like an old pro!
-
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We're his new mummy and daddy, and and and, Sam's his new big brother, and Bilbo yes, and I'm all 'cited *rolls around and around*
And thank you all so much :)
-
So glad you've joined - as soon as he's settled I need to see pictures! Couldn't see much of him at all in his carrier. He'll be with you soon. :wooooo:
-
Oh don't worry, pictures will definately be distributed, I have LOADS of Sam as well to show you all. His fur is so shiny now :)
-
Just arrived home (because we went shopping then to see my dad) met Sam at 3 so all went well and both cats never made a sound all the way there. I did feel like catnapping those gorgeous 'black' kitties :Luv2: although just wished I could have seen them properly but hard to see them through the carriers, and was nice to meet Sootyca and Sam :) Sorry didn't get your text messages 'til later Sootyca, I only received them after Sam's and the first one came after the second which was strange, it's a new phone and no idea what's going on.
-
Thank you all so much, he arrived not long ago, he's asleep behind the speakers now. He and Sam had a chat, bit weary of each other but there were no claws, a few growls came from Bilbo but that's about it. He's absolutely lovely! :catlove2: :cat rub:
:thankyou:
-
I bet he was glad to stretch his legs! Fingers crossed they get on well with each other and he settles in well.
-
Thank you again you guys!
-

Look forward to seeing them he kept peeping at me through the basket he's gorgeous - the little I could see :Luv2:

Travelled like a sweetie though - and he was much better when Pumpkin was moved to the front of the car instead of being next to him. I did the same thing ... I gave him a bit a gentle pock through the carrier cuz he was so still and quiet I actually thought he had died  ....Bless him he was sound asleep :Luv2:
-
I'm sure Bilbo will be very happy in his new home with Sam, Sid (The cornsnake) and "Bunny" (Sorry I've forgotten her name) ... and of course his new Mummy and Daddy ;)
-
Bilbo came out a few times and Sam took a leap at him, Sam's a bit too playful which is annoying Bilbo a bit.
Bilbo's growling and hissing whenever Sam comes near and all Sam's doing is meowing, I've never ever heard him growl or hiss, he's such a hippy.
Anyway Bilbo came out for a nibble at dinner and a little stroke.
yes, my gorgeous darling little Syd the Snake (named after Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd ;) ) and Pixie the Rex Bunny :)
-
That's unusual, usually it's the resident cat who growls - well always has been that way for us :evillaugh: Sam sounds lovely too :Luv: and don't forget those photos ;)
-
It is unusual, All Sam's done is meow and if Bilbo lashes Sam's fur stands up. Then Sam leaves him to it but he just can't help but to go over and investigate.
When Matt's awake (he's a bit ill,) I'll transfer pictures from my phone to his phone - his phone works on this computer, mine doesn't work on Vista -.-
-
I'm sure they will both settle down in time. Looking forward to the piccies ..... and we also need a pic of Pixie :Luv2: I must admit I was a little bit smitten by her ... I've never met a Rex Bunny before and she was so sweet and soooooooooo soft :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Pictures very soon! I'll create a folder on my phone to bluetooth to matt. then transfer to the computer. All this technology makes me dizzy
Pixie does have a lovely personality, I'll try and catch a picture of her and Sam playing, I've had pictures of them before but it's very hard to snap, as they're both such a deep black colour it's hard to tell which ones which! looks like a big black blob.
-
Yep, photos of all your furbabes are welcome ;D Black cats can be notoriously difficult to photograph but I do have a thing for black cats :Luv2:
-
We love black cats too, it's a witchy thing ;)
Sam likes black cats too - that's just a biast thing.
-
look who it is:
It's Sam!
-
Sam and Matt
and Pixie the bunny
