Title: Stevie 1 year old lilac colour point britsh short haired HOMED
Post by: kelly-joy on January 15, 2010, 17:34:02 PM
Stevie is a 1 year old male Lilac colourpoint British short haired who is quite shy around strangers but loves the company of other cats. He is neutered and is up to date with his Vaccinations.Has no known health or behaviour problems. He loves being outdoors so must be homed to a rural or secure garden. He is looking for a home  where someone is around most of the day with No children or chance of any and no dogs. His owner is sadly moving aboard and can not take him with her. He is currently in the Oxfordshire area. Anyone interested in adopting him please pm me. All homes offered will be home checked
This is what his current owner wrote about him

Stevie is shy around other people and is used to being in a home with just one other person and a cat. He is so loving and as soon as I sit still for 2 minutes he’s in my lap...he absolutely loves attention and because I work from home, he gets that from me. I would suggest he be put in a home with just one person or possibly a couple...I don’t think he’s do well with children.

He loves the outdoors and has so much energy. Very playful and not naughty at all...a real gent!

if this cat loves other cats, any aggression Beavis shows wouldn't be reciprocated, which in my experience usually means it doesn't last long

I say go for it, he is a lovely looking and sounding boy

yes she is keeping him.I did try to get her to re home both and spoke about the problems she may have if she separates a bonded pair but she says they aren't that close  so she doesn't think it will be a problem parting them.

That seems a bit odd, especially as she is saying he has no behavioural/health issues and gets on with the other cat. I guess her loss will be someone elses gain though - hopefully Kirsts!

Would it help speed things up with bypassing the home check by telling Kelly-Joy i've been to Kirst's house and i'd quite happily move me and my cats into the living room by the fireplace  :evillaugh: It's a lovely big place.

Kirst i'm gonna have to find a new instructor so i can pass my test so I can come visit you all sooner than later!

You too

He has had some dinner (about half a tin of gourmet so not too bad) and he wanders round the spare room when we are not about but as soon as anyone appears he dives for his bed! :scared:

He is not adverse to some strokes , purrs his head off , and he has a little catnip fishy in his new bed to keep him company. He had his head resting on it last time I checked on him. A little worried that there has been no deposits in the tray yet , if nothing by tomorrow I will go and get his old brand of litter.

I think its rather sad that he arrived with nothing but his name tho , poor little guy! :(
Title: Re: Stevie 1 year old lilac colour point britsh short haired HOMED
Post by: kelly-joy on January 27, 2010, 20:36:03 PM
it happens like that sometime. Some people have a cat but don't spoil it with toys and beds etc and its the norm for them. Where as others like ourselves spoil our cats they get toys, beds, large cat gyms and treats galore etc etc and that's the norm for us. Yes I would recommend that you let him have his old litter until he is settled with you and then slowly cut it out to the litter you prefer. If you have any worries about him at all you have my number just call me :)

Glad he is home Kirst, its not unusual for them not to use the tray when they first arrive..... You have to get in it a scratch around a bit!  :naughty: ( cos that last bit was a wind up! )

How are the others reacting? Do they know he is there yet?  :shify:

Oh yes , and what a turn up for the books - the old boys Fredcat and Beavis are completely fine , quick sniff , stole his food and wandered off!. :evillaugh:

Gizzy and Jerry are the hissy ones , and are dying to get in his little room. :sneaky: Stevie is dying to get out , meowing his little head off this morning but when I sat down and called him he came and had strokes! :wow:

Oh and we have had a smell wet deposit in the tray , no solids yet. ;)

He is having lots of strokes , and has now been for wees and poos so I am a happy Mummy. He is a very nervous boy , and gets jumpy form outside noises (like Gizmo sctraching manically at the door) so he has the radio on permanently to keep him company.

I think its gonna be a slow integration process as he scares easily.
