I currently have in my care 2 black female kittens currently known as 'The Dinkies', aged about 9wks. They were advertised in the less savoury area of where I live as 'free kittens'.
They have been de'fleaed since I collected them and are lovely healthy and active kittens, they have already developed little personalities and are surprisingly easy to tell apart despite both being black. They are both perfectly litter trained, no little accidents at all!
Anyone interested in adopting them will need to be homechecked first, but I promise you won't have to jump through some of the ridiculous hoops that we had to when we adopted our 2 from the RSPCA!

She's messed me about a bit really. Came to see them last wk and I didn't hear from her after that, rang her today to ask what she had decided and she said she wants to go on holiday a few times over the summer (she's a teacher) so she's probably going to leave it for a month or 2. I guess its good the she realises the kitten will need her around if she gets one but its annoyed me a bit that she didn't let me know.

Sorry for the slow reply, been at the gym trying to burn off the chocolate brownies I made last wkend!
I would absolutely love it if both of the little ones could go to a home together. As far as the transport thing is concerned, I'm not sure what the best thing to do would be as I would need to come and do a homecheck which is fine as I can drive down (I only live in Whiteley and work in Fareham) but you will be wanting to meet the little ones as well.
It would be great if you could tell me a bit about yourself, if you have any other pets, children etc, whether you've had cats before?

Yes, we used to have a cat. Unfortunately she went missing, and we didn't find her, but are now ready to get another cat. I am happy to have the two - because I am considering them being indoor cats (still undecided on that), and that way they would be company for each-other as well, which is nice.
Failing that, and they do become outdoor cats, we have a garden, and a cat-flap fitted, etc. We live in a cul-de-sac by a cycle track, so not too much traffic around here.
I have a toddler - he also misses our cat terribly and keeps asking for her... We don't have any other pets.
If someone else answers this thread and wants just one of the kittens, I would be happy to take just one as well. :)

Sorry to hear about your cat going missing, I think there are quite a lot of people on here who would sympathise having lost a cat in the same way.
I am glad you are considering the indoor cat option, there are views for and against this, but my 2 are predominantly indoor and seem perfectly happy this way, as you mentioned, 2 cats have each other for company. For us indoor cats was partly necessary as we can't have a cat flap, but my mums cat Casper lost a leg in a road accident last year and this enforced my decision even more. We open the door for our girls and let them play outside for an hour or so supervised a few days a week and they seem to enjoy it but always come in of their own accord. They are collared and microchipped in case they do go missing though.
Would you be happy for me to pop round sometime and meet your family/do a homecheck.

Hi Bryony ... Yes, I'm more than happy for you to come and do a home-check - when were you thinking of ? Afternoon / evening is best for me, as we're usually attending a playgroup in the mornings (Mon - Fri)....

Thanks Lesley, couldn't have done it without your advice and the advice of other Purrs members who've really helped me out with my first fostering. The support on this forum really is brilliant. (and yes, my spare room will be free again ;D We're being given a sofabed by OH's parents so the desk will be leaving and the bed will be arriving!)
I have a feeling that the girls will love their new home and will be treated like the little princesses that they are.

I took the girls down to meet Andrea this evening and they made themselves at home in about 5 seconds flat, so I think they've definitely found their forever home!!
I will certainly miss them and it was hard to leave them but they are going to have a great life and my girls are keeping my comfy (so is my pizza that I accidently bought on the way home).

Awww Bryony, it had to be hard for you, to hand them over after looking after them for a while .. I'll be sure to keep posting new pics of them as they grow ...
They are being complete lunatics, dashing about all over the place, they've not been still at all, haha. I gave them dinner after you left, which they tucked into right away, they've both used the litter tray, and got right down to playing and dashing about.

What a super thread. I've also got 2 young black girlies Andrea (and a few more bsides) and know only too well what a super time you are going to have watching them grow. Two are always better than one. Ours will be 8 months old next week. Time has just flown by. Enjoy!

Quick update - the girls have settled wonderfully, and now even let my 2 year old touch them, which is great considering they only met him this morning .... I have Peanut sleeping on my lap right now, and Popcorn is sleeping in their bed, on the armchair. I honestly thought they would NEVER stop long enough to snooze, haha !
From what I have learned about them so far .... Peanut is definitely the lady of the two ... and Popcorn is the lunatic. lol. Peanut is the all-black one, and Popcorn is the one with the white bit on the chest / brownish tint.
I will post pics tonight - the few decent ones I have so far - most of them are blurry because they've not sat still long enough for me to get a good one !

There's also this site, no need to download any software for this one - just choose 600 pixels and then right click the resulting image to save it http://online-image-resize.kategorie.cz/

A funny thing they do ... when Dylan (my 2 year old) goes to bed at night, they lie at the top of the stairs, outside his (open) door for a couple of hours. How cute is that ?
