Title: Amber - 10 year old torti needing a new home - Sheffield
Post by: JackSpratt on April 12, 2009, 13:55:06 PM
Posting this in behalf of a girl trying to find a home for her fathers cat. He has moved out of a 3 bedroom house into a flat, and Amber is not happy with the lack of access to outside as she had it for many years.

She is ten years old and very loving. She's better suited to a home with a couple or a single older person.

The gentleman in question is understandably very upset about this situation, but feels Amber would be happier elsewhere.

If you can help, please PM me and I'll send you contact details.

She is lovely, you're right. :) Got an email today asking if I'd had any luck. I think they're starting to get concerned about Ambers mental state.

The lady sent me an email today saying Amber has gone to a new home on a trial basis. If she isn't happy there her Dad will take Amber back and look for somewhere else. Will move this to the appropriate section.

"if you can provide a safe home with a garden and no main roads close by, please get in touch. my dads cat is called amber and i advertised her around 3weeks ago she is 10yrs old and just the perfect lap cat, she does like to go in the garden when its sunny but thats the only time she will go out. i no she is old but please if you can just give her the home she needs we would be so greatfull, we also would like her to go either to an elderly person or a family with no young children as they will just torment her. she is very friendly and likes to lick you alot and loves attention, she does get on with other animals but it would be best for her to be the only pet please. she is no trouble to look after and is also litter trained.

please i no its a long shot with her age but i want her to go to a lovely home not a rescue centre who will keep her in a cage.
this is very upsetting for all of us - im not selling her she is free"

What the ad says.... :scared:

Never mind....she already has two potential homes lined up. After finding the first one via "that site" and it being so successful(!)

I wish people would give some credit to rescues!

There are some rescues that are pretty awful. But to be honest, the cat wasn't posted on any purpose made sites for rehoming and that's what bothers me the most.

Can't win 'em all.

Janey, I think the lady has already offered her to another person found the same way as the first. To say I'm unhappy is an understatement, but I can't really do much about it.

a family with no young children as they will just torment her.

Not entirely true, my 11yo is fine with my kids and vice versa.

CC, that was what I was sent information wise, so I respected the familys wishes. ;) I know of homes where it's not the case most definitely.
