Title: Ashford Kent, experienced owner seeks rescue Siamese.. (Uknown Outcome)
Post by: Canterbury_cats (Sharon) on January 03, 2009, 23:11:44 PM
I have been contacted by a lady who has a 9yr old son who lives in Ashford who is desperately looking to adopt an adult siamese puss cat.. She has tried some Siamese rescues but has told me there is a issue with her son, they prefer to rehome to adult only homes with no kids. Puss would probably be an indoor puss cat and she isnt really concerned as to age etc... She works part time... small garden..
I dont have issues with the kiddy as she tells me she has been brought up around cats and so as her son, her last Siamese passed away at 19 or so, so she must be doing something right.

We dont cover Ashford area the nearest would be Folkestone CP... but do any rescues have an suitable siamese puss cats looking for a home then i am sure something could be arranged via them (well i hope so))))!. She is willing to travel a sensible distance and would prefer to keep within Kent area.. But you never know..

Anyhows just thought i would post this as the last time i did we found a home for 14 yr old Maine Coon Gerry, who is still doing fab well..

BTW she does realise she has to be homechecked.

I can pass on details address and emails should anyone know of a siamese in need.

Between you and me (and the whole of purrs LOL) i have been told that Bridget is very strange when it comes to rehoming the cats there, she tends to hang on to them rather than letting other people have them !
Also, I dont call a 9yr old a young child....oh well hoo hum  :shify:

I find it  very strange that you seem to think  other people can't read your postings!I don't often come her but just happened to have posted in the lost and found .Of course we home with children of a reasonable age providing the cat is comfortable  with that but not all cats are suitable for them. We all home according to our consciences and because I don't do things exactly the same as you is not a reason to criticise-I certainly wouldn't question other reputable. organisations homing criteria even if I don't agree with it and it's just as well I don't always want cats to go ASAP becasuse what would have happened to Mimi if I did?Homing is not some sort of race to see who can home the most,it is making sure that the home is 100% right for that particular cat.Happy New Year to you all and your cats.

They dont look their age do they!

Due to their history they need to live where there is no neighbouring cats.
:evillaugh: how impossible to ensure that unless you live in the middle of your own farm?

Often people take the response of 'theres nothing suitable for a 9year old at the moment' as a straight NO which isnt always the case :sigh:

That's a shame - I'll look later and see if I can find any cats looking for new homes that fit the bill.

EDIT: Nope, nothing I can see. I'll keep checking!
