Title: Raising Money From The Internet - Buy Online From Retailers and Get a %!
Post by: maccat on February 06, 2007, 19:18:31 PM

over the past few weeks i have seen many of your sites, with some offering a shop page but with nothing there

can i recommend you work with these guys http://buy.at/fundraising/cause.php?type=charities&REFERER=
this link explains everything but here is an example of the site in action - http://buy.at/BCTGB  this is for the bordercollietrust

it's REALLY easy to use.  Click on the first link i gave you and sign up (it's free!), and you will get a site that looks like the one above.  Simply place a link to it on your website and then everytime someone who clicks on one of these retailers and buys something you get a % of that sale!  commissions are from 1% to 10%.  there are loads of retailers and if people buy from these stores already its a great way to raise money.  just remember if you do work with this site, remember to explain to your users to click on the links on your site!

cheers

A couple more websites that help raise donations for charity when doing your online shopping:

Easyfundraising (http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/invite/29ZY4E/)

givingabit (http://www.givingabit.com)

Personally, I prefer easyfundraising as it has a useful little toolbar app that tells you whenever a website you're on can add to your donations making it super easy to remember to donate for free. I've raised 76p since last weekend, which should hopefully grow and grow with all online shopping I do especially with all the Christmas shopping still to be done.

They currently have the option of donating to: CatChat, Feral Cat Welfare, PAWS Inn. I couldn't find Purrs on there though.
