Hiya! I'm really pleased to find this site.
Can I just ask, why is it that when I click on the threads, they seem to be appearing upside down, ie with the answers at the top and the question at the end?

Thats not upside down for this forum or our relative Cat Chat :rofl: :rofl:
However if you look at the options in your profile you can reverse it if you so wish.

If you go to your profile, find "look and layout preferences" on the left hand side under "modify profile" scroll down and uncheck ""show most recent posts at the top". That will make it so new posts go to the bottom.

Cool - looks like I've caused a stooshie already!
I'm not a cat owner at present but have come here to get advice about becoming one. I do love cats and grew up with a dynasty of them: Sooty and Tiggy, Rosie and Harvey, and my mum now has Myrtle and Hermione.
They were/ are abosolutely gorgeous cats but my mum admits to being shallow and will only have pretty cats in her house, isn't that awful :scared:
They all had wonderful lives and the only sad part was losing Tiggy when the local pondlife shot him with an air pistol.
If I do get a cat it will be an indoor moggy - I live in a flat!

And for those of you wondering, yes they do! Pippa loves (or loved.. she changes her mind every so often) loooooves Oatybix.
Glad to hear you want a pud, and there are loads of puds that would love a quiet indoor life.
You described the pondlife well. So sorry to hear about your loss. :hug:

I live in a flat so I have to have an indoor cat. I really do want a kitten but have been advised that the local shelters will only give kittens to homes with gardens, and also they prefer to home kittens in pairs. So I fail on both counts as I only want one.
I'd be happy to have a wee adult cat if a kitten is out of the question. I'd prefer a female shorthair with an easy going temperament but I can imagine that in reality it may just be a case of seeing a cat and liking the look of it!
From glancing over the site here it seems that many shelters are struggling to cope with the amount of kittens and cats needing their help, but perhaps it's different in Edinburgh as there appears to be a scarcity of cats and it's the potential owners who are on waiting lists, not the moggies.
I really need the wee puss to be able to catch - or at least scare - mice, as that's the reason I started thinking of getting one in the first place. That and the hugs of course!

A few of us have replied on your other thread.
There is no reason you shouldn't have an indoor cat who wants to be indoors. I personally would not home a cat that has already had outdoor access if I only had an indoor as a choice. So you're doing the right thing in your considerations.
So a cat that needs an indoor life, some just do, is a little harder to find, but as I said in your other thread,there are some that need it. :hug:

This is such a great forum - friendly and helpful. Smashing stuff.
I picked Oatybix as a user name on my other forums long ago - I can hardly remember why now! I'm a big cereal muncher and love all the oaty stuff like oatybix, porridge etc. Maybe I was hungry when I logged on ;)
I could basically eat breakfast three times a day and be happy. Toast and tea - another of life's great pleasures eh! Oatybix is really tasty, try it.

Mine is switched to the correct way and I no longer go on Catchat as the upside down forum (without the option of switching) is too much :( I frequent lots of forums and reading top down is the standard, as is reading just about everything
I got kittens without a garden so some will but I did take a pair also two a more fun and in a lot ways less work/worry
