Title: Canterbury CP Kent.. We have kitten overload & at the moment no homes!
Post by: Canterbury_cats (Sharon) on July 05, 2008, 08:31:37 AM
Hi all
Until recently we were doing just fine with rehoming etc until kitten season started and now we are swamped.. We have (if i can remember) 14 kittens in our care and no homes lined up for them.. All between 4wks to 7wks of age and some ready to go now...We want to rehome in pairs if possible...You can see photos of some on our Catchat page and on our website guidelines for rehoming kittens

www.canterbury.cats.org.uk

Kittens are rehomed at 9wks with first lot of vac (including FELV) wormed and flead and come with 6wks free insurance.

We have rehomed kittens further afield then our immediate Canterbury, Kent area but that has been with the co operation of other CP branches or people kindly being able to homecheck for us. If you are also way out of our area, i do generally ring up any new adopters vets.

Please note we take neutering of kittens very seriously and i do make sure that neutering is carried out when kittens are old enough.. You will get an ear bashing from me if any female kitten that we rehomed gets pregnant or male kittens fail to be neutered when old enough.

Donations as always keep us going.. and we would appreciate it if people considered the cost implications of taking on a kitten especially when money is so tight nowadays, but also realise that without donations we cannot pay our staggeringly increasing vet bills. Donations allow us to exist and keep head above water.

Idea of colours.. Tabby siblings brother and sister.
Gingers, bw, torties and blacks..

Please read our rehoming policies on our website and if interested pls PM me or post here should you require more information. Or telephone me on 01227 360432

WE are just as bad, but we are doing even worse on the adults, even the two 11 month olds we took in (who are stunning and ginger, not a colour that is normally with us long). for some reason, the bulk of hte kittens people want us to take in are 12 weeks old!!

We have rehomed some of our kittens but they definitely not moving as quickly as they normally do. We've just taken in a litter of 5 from the worst housing estate in our area, thank goodness we got them in as the owner's neighbours were after them as they are long haired but as one of the neighbour's cats had been killed by a dog (a fairly regular occurance in tha area unfortunately) we are very glad to have got them signed over to us and they are now safe with a foster mum. I think we have another 7 in care aswell. Fortunately we have had some good adult homes recently so at least some of ours are moving. Good luck with your kittens Sharon
