Title: Long Term Foster Home - Special Oldie - Newcastle REHOMED
Post by: emma_vn on June 25, 2008, 22:42:06 PM
Hutch is a lovely older boy, of around 12 years of age. He is short haired and tabby, a very handsome & distinguished gentleman. Hutch is very sweet and affectionate and loves to be stroked. He is relaxed, easy going and laid back.

On examination, we have discovered that Hutch has an abdominal mass, more than likely connected to his liver. However, Hutch is otherwise healthy and well and this does not seem to be causing him any problems or discomfort. His blood tests have shown that his liver function is currently normal and he is doing very well with us. It is impossible to know exactly what this mass is at this point but we do not see the point in putting Hutch through any invasive surgery when he is currently so well.

We are seeking a long term / permanent foster home for Hutch. We cannot promise what his life expectancy may be, but it could certainly be years and he deserves to live his twilight years somewhere nice. Hutch would love to have some outdoor access for lazy summer days, he loves to sunbathe. He can live with other pets and sensible older children, or would suit an older person or couple. He will make a wonderful companion and is looking for a special someone to look after his needs, which are not many.

Hutch is neutered and microchipped. In the case of Hutch"s health problem requiring veterinary treatment, this will be covered by Westways Stray Fund for a token donation fee, so we are not expecting anyone to take on a cat with an expensive condition. At this time Hutch requires no treatment at all, but we cannot say when this may change. Of course we can only cover his veterinary treatment if he stays in the Newcastle area.
