What is Mr Tinks story?
Hi Christine,
Mr Tinks was found by the side of the road, he had various cuts to him which had been caused by a broken bottle - it was soon learnt that a group of thugs (would like to call them something different but wont on here!!) slashed him on purpose and left him bleeding :( :( :( I believe they were prosecuted though which is some justice for the poor mite :censored:
He has a lovely thick coat now though with a lovely ginger beard! He's not here yet as my flaming car broke down last night and had to wait all night for the RAC!! hopefully going to collect him at lunch time though so will keep you all updated ;D
-
That's awful, poor Mr Tinks :( Glad he's found someone to love and protect him now :)
-
What evil :censored: to do that to a cat. Look forward to seeing the pictures of Mr Tinks, hope your cars sorted and you can pick him up today.

I had a cat from an abusive situation, it makes me smile every time I see her stretched out on the conservatory sofa with her arms and legs in the air! It is so rewarding and I'm sure you'll spoil him more than he ever imagined - sorry you didn't manage to get him last night

My most loved Ariadne........
She came from the Humane Society. A gorgeous Tortie. But had no teeth. Well, still had the roots of her canines but that was all. Someone had beaten and abused her. And kicked her in the face, causing her remaining teeth to sheer off. We went from the Humane Society to the vet where the remaining roots were extracted (and antibiotics administered because they were badly infected) and then she came home. 4 of us (well, 5 counting me) there were at the time. She didn't bat an eye at any of them but was horrified at the idea of a home, apparently. The poor girl took up living under my desk - and stayed there for days. Only cat I have ever had that simply did not know how to play.
But, you know, she eventually came out and adopted us all. She is long since gone now, but remains on, known as "the Mother of us all" because that's what she did. She adored us all. Took in each and every last one of us (and there were LOTS after her!) and loved them as if they were her own kittens (even the guinea pig - who, I must admit, found this a little stressful!)
Long story short - rescue cats are the BEST cats. And I know you and he will have many wonderful years together. And maybe someday write a tribute to him as I have done to her.

\hi DM, long time no see! Hope the long days are suiting you well! Ihave to say that some of my loveliest and most affectionate animals have come from rescue. They can occasionally be hard work as DM has pointed out, but if you let them take things at their own pace, and don't try to make them be friendlier than they are ready to be, they will make very rewarding companions. Sofie slept in the lounge room for many years before she discovered beds. Once she did, she never looked back!!
-
You couldn't be more right, Jo. The trick indeed is letting them go at their own pace. if they don't want cuddles, then so be it.
Am so glad Mr Tinks is going to have a safe and loving home with you, Rachel and look forward to hearing more about him once you have him home and settled in. ;D

and hi to you too BC.........
some day I will tell you all of Mysh....
Rescues from the wild are also wondrous. Even more challenging, but wondrous.
-
Poor Mr Tinks. Give him a big hug from me (although it will probably have to be a virtual hug until he settles in).
-
Thank you everyone - i will certainly pass on your 'hugs' to MrTinks :Luv:
I'm just waiting for the rescue to call me back to arrange collection....i'm so excited! He will absolutely be spoilt and loved, and i'm already planning on getting him a friend to keep him company!! :shy:

So, is Mr Tinks a ginger, or ginger and white boy? (You'll see I'm rather partial, as Paddy is ginger and white)
