Just come back from vets yet once again, more antibiotics for a week, and he gave me more inflamatries only to give him if he doesn't improve by friday unless he gets any worse start them then.I have to ring him on friday to let him know how he is and have to see him again next tues. He told me to get him some yakult or something like that but no dairy stuff.Doesn't yakult have any dairy stuff in it,because he did say yogurt,I still have some lactob so I will use that.He can't have anything else apart from chicken flavour cat food as he said beef was no good for sensitive tums. The older two cats have menu natures beef and heart flavour food and he has eaten a bit of that. :'(
-
Started the inflamatries but this moring he was sick and brought everything up, so rang the vets and took him in to get them given buy injection other wise the tabs won't work :(
-
I hope Simba feels better soon. Keeping my finger crossed .

:thanks: Pappilon :Luv:

Sorry to hear this, but hopefully the injection will do the trick. I thought Yakult was dairy too - but I may be wrong. Sending more positive vibes.

Has he had any work up at all to investigate his condition? Sorry I am new here so might not have seen previous postings.
How old is Simba, how long has this been going on, and what are the names of the drugs he has been given? I don't see the benefit in giving him yoghurt or anything like that, personally, without knowing further what could be wrong.
-
You are having a bad time hope things improve soon and keep your chin up

Hi Felix, i hope that Simba is feeling better now, when my Bengl babies had the same problem the antibiotics just made them worse, Im glad to say that with a lot of pereverence they are both fine now (touch wood of course) I think i might have said before but natures menu makes them worse, we have at last sorted their diets out and they are fine. Have you tried the raw meat yet ?
-
Sorry that Simba is not well again, I think that the advice is to try and stabalize them on one food, rather than keep changing. hope the meds do the trck
-
Fingers crossed for him.
-
Hi guys
Have tried him on the raw wings he did have a chew on them,I did ask the vet about natures menu and he said that that food was fine but just keep him on the chicken flavours. He said it was a low acidy thingy food and it would be totally fine, but I will change if the chicken food doesn't work for him, he has to go back tuesday afternoon so will have another word with him then. :thanks:

Emma Simba is 9months old and he has been told by the vets he has Colitis and I B D which they thought was caused by stress first of all has he got it just after being neutered a few months ago and since then he has had it a few times :(he has been on two types of antibiotics, the ones he has been taking the past few times are called Baytril, which he gets a runny tummy with aswell, and the inflamatries are called Medrone. When we first got him of the breeder he was suffering from cat flu and he was being fed on just tin tuna in brine because she said that was the only thing he would eat,It took me about five weeks to get him on proper kitten food.I am sure all this must have a lot to do with his condition. :(
-
Oh I remember Simbas story now and that stupid breeder ........sigh
-
I know she still makes me so angry >:(
-
Lots of love and cuddles to Simba. Hope he gets better soon.

He seems very young for IBD, though I know it's possible. Do you know if his faeces has been tested for campylobacter?
-
Hope Simba is feeling better today
-
No they haven't been tested for anything! he did have a blood test a few weeks ago he had raised white blood cells but his kidneys and liver were fine.
-
He had another injection today to last till friday, he is still bloated and sore. Then I will carry on with the tabs myself from friday again. The vet wants to see him next tuesday. He was playing a bit before but not to much. After we were in the car I noticed that Sabre was in the carrier with him,I thought it felt heavy carrying in(so silly) don't know why I didn't realise that must be all the stress with everything that is going on at the moment. At least Simba had some company.(the vet thought it was funny)Think it was a plan of Sabre to get out of the house he has been really trying like mad to get out :(But this is why we built a big run for them,It is starting to make me feel guilty but wer are doing it for their own safety.
-
When we take the Bengals to the vets it is always a "double act" and the vet is never quite sure which one she is treating
So sorry to hear that Simba is still not too well, really hope he is all better soon xxx

:thanks: so much Sheryl xx
