Title: Advice on scratchpost
Post by: JackSpratt on November 19, 2007, 21:30:43 PM
I've been given a scratchpost (actually it's more of an activity centre and I noticed a kitten in a window across the road, so it'll possibly end up over there anyway!) and I can't seem to put it together! It has a ladder, a large square base, two long thin platforms and two smaller square platforms. Can anyone advise on how to put it together from those parts?!

Um, not sure....maybe you could look up cat trees / scratchers on sites like zoouk, PAH etc and see if they have one made up of similar components? It might give you an idea of what it is meant to look like - the old "copy the picture on the box" technique, in the absence of having the actual box...lol
Good luck! (if all else fails - maybe let the cats have a go? lol)

I'm tempted! I ambushed my partners mate when he came in earlier and had him looking at it for about 15 minutes - he can't figure it out either!

I've looked on a few sites, but can't fnd one the same.

Largest piece is always at the bottom, small pieces usually at the top
and the long thin ones probably in themiddle somewhere ??

Hold on a min !!
leave the ladder out of the it for just now  ;) Does the picture give you any inspiration ??

Possibly. It's getting to the point where I'm tempted to pass it on again! It's more carpet that sisal anyway, so not that useful when I got it as a scratchpost!

Hiya,

Reading your description reminds me of my one, I'm not sure it'll help but I've posted a couple of pics, I can take others specially when I get in from work this evening if we're on the right track. The ladder (not shown in the pics) is off to the right in the 2nd picture.

cheers

Leigh

Nope it doesn't look the same, Leigh. :( Thanks for trying though. It's one of those things that when you're given it you think "Great! Should be simple to put together" and weeks later you're still going.... at it!
