Hi everyone on the Purrs forum. I got a bit of an identity crisis. I got an email from a rescue today saying they have rescued two cats but are at a loss as to what breed they are. I just knew my feline lovin' chums on Purrs would know so here are the pics:

Oooh very pretty! Looks a bit like a Singapura to me - what does everyone else think?
-
I think Asian Tabby or Burmilla ;D
-
Sorry no idea but they are absolutely stunning, I love sleek cats.
PS - Be careful with them as I hear Madonna wants a new hat :evillaugh:

Th middle one on left is a caramel silver Burmilla and I think it is so similiar.

oh gosh - that's tough! My first thought was singapura but they do look like that burmilla too! Maybe email a singapura and/or burmilla cat club and ask them if they look like a singapura/burmilla? Those very familiar with a particular breed tend to be able to recognise small details that those of us who aren't don't notice.
-
All the asian cats very simliar LOL............so just not sure
-
i'd defo say singapura imho !
-
I think it is a burmilla!
vote? ;D
-
I think you may be right lynn but then again who knows, so many look so similar.
-
Regardless of breed, they luuuurvely :Luv:
-
they luuuurvely
Aren't they all? Even the those who must be obeyed type
-
Definately look singapure to me
-
ooh... gorgeous... :Luv: definitely asian - I think the faces are ever so slightly more Burmilla than Singapura?
-
After an extensive study of all pictures (yeah right!) my vote is with Burmilla
-
It could be that we are all looking at different pics.
-
No
-
further proof!

Is this possible?!
The history of the Burmilla as a breed and the formation of the Burmilla Cat Club is quite an extraordinary one. Burmillas originated from a chance mating between a Burmese and a Chinchilla in 1981.
-
How about a Burmisinga?
-
Or a Singamilla?
-
Without papers, they are moggies - although they do have a pedigree look about them.
-
shows how ignorant I am, i'd never heard of a burmilla  but looking at the links I would say thats what they are but then take no notice of me
-
It's actually very difficult to tell from those particular pictures - they could be either / or as regards to Singapura or Burmilla. Obviously if they've come with papers, then the breed number will let you know what sort of cats they are, but otherwise, it might not be so straightforward.
However, there is a definite and distinct size difference between Singapuras and Burmillas. A Singapura is a very small and petite cat (around six month kitten size), whereas a Burmilla is a medium-sized (think average adult mog) cat.
Hope this helps.
