Hi folks,
I probably won't be around too much for the forseable future as I'm desperately trying to get my film finished in time for a film festival in February. I must really knuckle down and work on it in all my spare time if I'm in with a chance of meeting the submission deadline. I'll try and stop by whenever I am able. The problem with CGI stuff is that it takes hours just to get a few seconds of usuable "footage" and I've seen whole evenings and weekends dissapear with only a few seconds added to the running time of the film. Having said all of that I've completed just over 30 minutes of footage in the last year so about another 10 minutes and lots of editing shoudl see it finished if I really go to town on it.
All the best

-
Thanks everyone, as Arnie so eloquently put it "I'll be back" :)
For the sake of your own sanity I'm pleased that you don't know much about CGI Stuart ;D ;D Sometimes I get some very strange looks from the puds as if to say "you've just worked for 10 hours on that and you're telling us that you've got another 5 seconds to show for it, you're mad you are, you could have slept for 10 hours that'd be MUCH better use of your time, yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnn" :)
Hiya Clare, I'll be around hun, I'll have to take breaks as it makes me really :tired: if I push things to far, all that concentration. Take good care of yourself and big hugs to Maxy boy.
Cheers all
:Luv:

In bocca al lupo, good luck Leigh!! I can imagine how time consuming can CGI be, but also very rewarding when it comes out well! Hope we will get to see your finished production one day... what sort of film you are making? All my best wishes and try not to be too much of a stranger!! Cheers me dears. :briggin:

only animation I've done was a cartoon picture of a scottish guy bending down picking up his Kilt and
having a swing (similar to a scene in Braveheart) :evillaugh: but that was over 8 year's ago and was
done as an animated Gif, which was also very time consuming doing frame by frame :tired:
So I can imagine the amount of work you will have to do to get the frame's running smoothly,
and no doubt there'll be a learning curve and Hurdles to get over also
GOOD LUCK !! with it anyway ;)
-
Cheers Stuart,
Yes, there has been a pretty steep learning curve as I've been working with lots of new SFX software but graphics have always been my first love :)
All the best mate

Good luck with the film Leigh. We'll miss you so don't be too long before you are back.
-
Hope it all goes well for you.
-
we'll miss you - and expect sample footages from time to time to critique (lol). See you in the new year and let us know when it is released!! It could be our first Oscar!! ;D
-
May all your renderings be happy ones.
-
Good morning folks and thanks for your wishes,
May all your renderings be happy ones.
And faster ones LOL as every time I produce a test movie it takes about 15-18 hours to render :) which means a lot of time is spent just waiting. :) I need IBM's super-computer "Deeper Blue" to get faster rendering, maybe they'd lend it to me, it'd save a lot of time ;D

;D Oscar no but if it fixed my dodgy plumbing you won't find me complaining ;D, I'll try and produce some little trailers and news when time permits.
Frankie won't let me work for too long on the movie, he waddles into the bedroom where I've got the computer kit miaowing repeatedly and very loudly and headbuts the adjuster lever on my chair until I get up and go stretch out on the Living Room settee and give him a big stroke and cuddle session. I'm always going to sit on the computer chair and finding it very low and re-adjusting it as his head butting operates the gas high adjustment lever thingy.
I'm waiting on a friend, a University lecturer in film and animation to pop round for a few beers and "critique" the movie before I move on at a pace as I need a fresh pair of eyes to look at it. It looks good on my 32 inch LCD and I'll be getting the pizzas and popcorn in for the "screening" ;D
Give all your puds a big hug from me,
:Luv: Leigh

Good Luck with the film Leigh.....it must be really time consuming for you, I know how long pc stuff takes as Ive been waiting for the OH to put the camcorder on disk for months :evillaugh:
I wish you success ;)

Thank you kindly Ruth,

Yeah!! We all would love to "critique" your film!! :wow: You know a featured film dedicated to "Puss in Boots" (from Shrek) is now under production (scheduled release 2010)? Once you get your project done perhaps you could give them a hand and make sure it will be much better than Shrek III, and worthy for our favourite silver screen hero!! ;)
