On BBC News channel, a repeated feature on the dangers, including showing a vet who sees several cats a week in a terrible way as a result, he says a lot can't be saved.
Not often I'd say this but makes me slightly less annoyed about paying them a licence fee.
Given that even intelligent people ( well maybe not intelligent but the BBC News demographic ) don't know not to do this, let's hope it saves a few cats from an agonising death.

intelligence and education should never be confused with each other.... I know a large number of educated people who can be pretty dumb. And a lot of people who have enjoyed fewer educational opportunities who are a lot smarter.
The article was also in the evening standard and Metro so hopefull will have crossed a broad cross section of the community.

lets hope people take this seriously

I saw this on telly this morning and the vet was holding the most gorgeous cuddle lump of a cat - red pointed siamese , he was just adorable (he hadnt been a victim just making a publicity debut appearence) :Luv:
-
ah yes - siamese are all hogs for the limelight :Luv:
-
But why has it taken so long for it to become 'news'? too many cats have died already.

What bothers me is that it makes it common knowledge with the sick type of people who would try it for a laugh >:( :(

That's what I always think too. Don't think much of the human race do we ?
