Tigers are actually excellent swimmers, well, to calm your nerves, here is a bit more tame, less scary aquatic feline...

That's amazing! I've heard of people teaching their cats to swim before, but scuba-kitty is a new one! :wow:
I know that tigers have partial webbing on their paws - are there any domestic breeds that are particularly fond of water?
-
Turkish Van and Maine coons are meant to be fond of water - having said that Xanthe does not appreciate her dunkings to depoo her trousers! She does like splatting water with her big hairy hobbit feet though.
Fab pics of tiger!

Carl thanks , those are about the most amazing pics i've seen. Sat and watched all the vid aswell . Not sure it was fair to keep chucking his meat into the water but no one certainly forcing him under thats for sure :evillaugh:
I love the way his face his all screwed up to block off his nose :Luv:

I love the way his face his all screwed up to block off his nose :Luv:
Is that what he's doing Lynn? To stop the water getting up?

Bilbo and Boopy (NFCs) love water too. Lovely wet paw prints everywhere when you have a shower as they quite often come into the bath with you and get the spray and flick water everywhere. Freaked my friend out no end when she came to stay lol and they let themselves in. She now makes sure the door is locked lol. The minute they hear a tap running they are there within 2 seconds lol. Makes Bilbo fantastic if he needs a shower as he loves it and just stands perfectly still and doesn't move until you have finished. Boopy however hates being bathed so she only has one if she absolutely has to (she's only ever had one in her life)
-
Yes most probably i'd say. If you notice normally a tigers nostrils are fairly open (and large LOL) whereas in the underwater shots they look much more slit like, also note the ears absolutely flat and sealed down against his head. Hes not daft :briggin:
-
I want one :evillaugh:
Stunning pics :Luv:
-
Just love white tigers,if it was tame enough I'd love to swim with it :Luv:
-

What a gorgeous Tiger :wow:
I didn't know that Tigers could swim. ;D

I think most cats can swim if they have to, some may enjoy it more than other breeds though.
