I've been trying to trap some kittens from the tortie mum that was handed in to me a couple of weeks ago. I've caught one kitten and 2 more to get. The people whose garden they are in are getting a little :censored: off with worrying about cats >:( >:( >:( I have been up there nearly all day the last couple of days whilst the owners have been in work and no joy :sneaky: I think mum is bringing back voles and mice etc so they don't seem to be too interested in the trap although she's been in it a couple of times to nick the chicken. I've tried everything and I have til weekend to get them otherwise they are calling it a day :censored: :censored: :censored: Their answer to it is, they will survive and soon they'll :censored: off into someone elses garden so they won't have the problem. I have explained kittens do die and mum will get pregnant again but as far as they're concerned it's not their cat and she'll probably have them in someone elses garden so it doesn't really matter >:( >:( >:( I have also been told by another neighbour that there is someone who is putting poison down so this is another concern.......even this isn't changing their mind about me getting them. The only way it affects them is they have to leave the gate unlocked in the morning so I can gain access to their garden, I sit in my car and check the trap every few minutes......why is this such a problem to them :sneaky: I was staying a certain length of time in the evening as well but I said when they come in from work, I can scarper so it doesn't infringe on their time at home but no, they want a cut off point :censored: They said they were concerned as it's getting cold, and it doesn't seem right that they are sat in the warm and I am sat in my car....... What has this got to do with them, if I freeze to death, it really isn't any of their concern. I have told them to forget about me, I wouldn't do it if I didn't want to and I will be happy dying of Hypothermia as long as I get the kittens. I'm going up there first thing again tomorrow after dropping the kids off at school so please keep your fingers crossed I get the little monkies :wish: If I don't get them and they refuse to let me in their garden, I think I may blow a gasket, I am so :censored: annoyed and I'm sure they think when I go home I can forget that there are kittens out there in the cold needing to be caught >:(
-
Dawn some people are so thoughtless :censored: Sending lots of love, positive vibes and warm vibes for you and the kitties :Luv2:
-
Dawn, you are an angel :best 2:
Don't know why they can't let you do what you want - it's not costing them anything
-
Lots of positive thoughts for you and the kittens, really hope you catch them soon.
It amazes me how some "people" can have no compassion at all. :censored: :censored:
-
DD you know you have my postive vibes.
Note to kittens & mum- 'GET IN THAT TRAP' - poor babies. Thinking of you DD xxxx
-
What really stupid people >:( >:( >:(
I hope you catch the kittens poor little things and also wrap up warm and take a flask of something hot

Mum I can get no problem, she is approachable but a little hissy when the kittens are out. I've had her trapped a couple of times already and just let her out again. I even bought them a fresh hot Roast Chicken yesterday, it went down a treat with her and she came running out from the bushes to nab some :evillaugh: I did end up nabbing some for myself, I was sat there eating cheese and onion butty for my dinner and had the whiff of hot chicken, how could I not have a share :evillaugh:
-
Dawn, you are an angel
Mark if you could have read my thoughts whilst we were having the convo, you wouldn't be saying that :innocent:
That's the other thing they forget about, it has cost me money going back and to each day, I've had to go a couple of times each time and on Monday, I went 3 times because I had to take my youngster to the Army Careers Office and then go back again when I'd dropped him off at home :tired:
-
Fingers crossed for catching them - will the kittens not approach if you put mum in a carrier in your car?

I can't get near them Des, they run like little rockets if they are out and they see me :scared: They are not used to human interaction and they were only spotted last week. The "nice couple" haven't thought to put food out for them either, so they are not used to eating normal grub as yet :sneaky: When I've left in the evening, I've been putting food out for them but not overdoing it as I really want them to be hungry in the morning, I've been doing my best to fill mum up as well so she doesn't go hunting ;)
-
Poor little babys , how old are the kittens Dawn?
I have no experiance in this, but do you think if they dont see the mum and you for a day they might come to the trap for food? Or are they too young to be left on their own over night? :(
Its getting so cold out there , how can people sleep at night knowing there are kittens in their garden cold and hungry >:(
-
The kittens look to be about 5 weeks old so too young to be left overnight. The weather is getting bitter here at the moment and at least this way they still have mum to snuggle up to. I'm just worried in case I don't the last two on the same day, it's imperitive if I get one tomorrow, I will have to get the other tomorrow as well :wish: :wish: :wish:
-
OOH, they are too young. I pray you catch them and the poor mum :(
-
If anyone can catch them Dawn, it's you! Don't forget your flask and hot water bottle, and best of luck
x
-
Keeping everything crossed for you, and hope you catch the elusive kitty babes Soon :Luv:

-
Lots of good vibes being sent from here. Do hope you can catch them today. And look after yourself!
-
Lots of good vibes being sent from me too. I just cannot understand people like this pair - I could not and would not ignore any animal needing help - what harm would it do them to offer you some help or to feed and keep an eye on these Kitty's. Makes my blood boil. Put them outside - see how they like being cold, hungry and frightened - They need a good kick up the :censored:
-
Hope you're successful today, Dawn. :) Good luck!
-
Good Luck today Dawn
How can those people be so heartless? :(
Best wishes for the mum and babies, I really wish sometimes we could tell cats what we are doing and that its for their best! :shy:
Hope they left the gate open :pic sneek:
-
Good Luck DD with catching these babes   if anyone can do it you can ;)
-
Sadly the weather has been absolutely :censored: today. We've had lots of rain and wind which doesn't make it ideal for trapping :tired: I've just got back in now, there's been no sign of the kittens or the mum all day which is understandable but mum did turn up earlier and let me give her a fuss and some chicken :Luv2: I managed to escape before the people came in from work so I've left them a note, thanking them again :tired: and asked if they can kindly leave the gate open again tomorrow.
-
OOH, and its getting colder tomorrow, aslong as the mum's around and fed ,then she wont leave them to go and look for food,
they can cuddle up to her, i hope this people change their mind and let you go back as long as it takes.
You must be so tired :tired:. We all pray you catch them soon :Luv:
-
yes, we are getting battered by High wind's up here and have our first covering of snow, bbrrrrrrrrr
Finger's still crossed you get them all soon :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
It's been peeing down most of the morning but it seems to be brightening up a little now, I'm going to go out shortly and have another bash at catching the elusive babes :sneaky:
-
Hopefully today will be the day, so you can sit in the warmth for a while, if anyone can you can , your a star :wish:
Fingers crossed xx
-
Good luck with the little ones, weather is awful here
-
Where the kitties are isn't far from where you are Sarah so weather is probably the same :tired: They are in Trefnant, I got up there, it started peeing it down again, I started to come home, it has now stopped :censored: :censored: I'm going back up later as they tend to come out when it gets darker anyway. I'm going to have a chat with the neighbour to see if there's any way she can be coaxed into his garden for food, he's a nice guy and loves cats so if this can be done, it's better than dealing with the :censored: where they are now.
-
how about try raw chicken. seeing as they are eatin mice etx. this might coax them in to the trap.
Easy in theory EH. :)
Donna who I had my Bengal boys off feeds raw chicken. might be worth a go.

I might get some later, ideally in the traps you need something smelly, not sure whether they would smell it or not :-: And they've not been in to get fresh Roast Chicken, hot from Somerfield although mum is pretty partial to it :sneaky:
I might also try a fish from the chippy, this may get their tastebuds rattling :evillaugh:
-
Bless them, no not far from me. Weather seems to have settled at least and will keep everything crossed.
-
No joy again :'( Good news is I've had a chat with the guy next door to the "nice" people and he has agreed to take a fence panel off at weekend and we'll try and encourage mum and kittens into his garden :naughty: At least this way I don't have to have a confrontation which I know will happen if I continue going round there :sneaky: I've not even spoken to them this evening, all I did was stayed til about 7.30, got my traps, left a pile of food under the hedge, locked the gate and went :shify: I've now got to go and release the female feral I trapped last week and set 2 traps up at different houses :tired: The joys of loving cats
-
Hi Dawn, any luck with the mum and her little family?
-
After a load of running about earlier, I went round there to see if there was any sign and there hasn't been :tired: I think she may have moved them but I've left some cat food with the guy to put out just in case. I spoke to Trisha who has been feeding mum and she said she has noticed the last couple of days she's changed direction after she's had her fill, and has started going through her back garden and under the fence :sneaky: She will try and follow her the next couple of days and also do door to door to see if anyone has seen her in their garden. I will keep you posted.
-
good luck Dawn!
-
Any news from this little one and her family? Has any one seen them in last few days?
-
Mum is still doing her daily visits up to 3 times a day for food and then disappearing I hope to her offspring. I will let you know as soon as she's been sighted with the youngsters
-
Fantastic news :yesss: :yesss: Trisha rang me earlier and she said mum had appeared with the kittens, she'd put a carrier out with a bed in it and she was sleeping in there with them :evillaugh: Today, she tied a piece of string to the door, got the whole family watching whilst she hid round the corner, they went in and she pulled it shut :) :) I'm really pleased, it's bitterly cold here today and finally they can have a nice warm bed to snuggle up in. Trisha has decided that she wants to give mum a home  She's taking her to the vets next week for a check up and to see if her milk has dried up enough to have her spayed. Her old cat is quite happy having her in the house now and they've both got used to each other. Another happy ending for a gorgeous girl :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
What a wonderful day ;D ;D ;D
-
