Title: Emma
Post by: Teresa Pawcats on November 04, 2007, 20:23:25 PM
Last Sunday we took Emma in believing her to be a poor lost soul with an owner looking for her, she is skin and bone and her appetite was ravenous and so we expected her to have a thyroid problem, she is also blind so high blood pressure was expected. On Monday morning we took her to the vets who suspected the same  and so she had bloods taken, blood pressure monitored and some Xrays taken because of a breathing problem and a problem with her paw.
We were amazed at the results blood tests showed nothing of concern. Blood pressure sky high but the xrays showed numerous old broken leg  bones and a diaphragmatic hernia, the result of being in an RTA and being left untreated;Emma makes the most unbearable noise when she is eating probably an old broken jaw.  Emma isnt someones recently lost pet the army of fleas should have been a clue; she is totally blind and her hearing isnt that wonderful either; her lungs are damaged, she has lost a third of her lung capacity due to the damage caused by that RTA and somehow she has managed to survive, she has the sweetest nature and deserves so much better.
Emma is well into double figures but you know I think her life is just beginning :)

Emma is just wonderful T. What a treasure. You know my weakness for black and white cats. If she is up to it, I look forward to giving her a cuddle at the end of the month.  Truly has landed on her paws with you. :Luv:

Aww, she sounds lovely, such a shame she has had to go through so much though. She is a very lucky girl now though, and she will get the love she deserves now.

Thanks to some excellent posters organised by Claire I had the pleasure of shedding happy tears last night as Emma was reunited with her owner who believed she had gone away to die.
The old  injuries Emma has were sustained before Emmas owner gave her a home almost 15years ago; Emma has been to her own vet this morning who has been in contact with my vet . My faith in human nature has been restored somewhat and for once I am so glad I was wrong.

Christine I gave her a hug from you before she left.
