I've had mine for about 6 weeks and mine three walk round with theirs in their mouth like a lion.  They also know which cupboard they are kept in and are usually sitting under it when i come home from work

Had mine for months although it only comes out once or twice a week. I only use it in the garden as I'm frightened that Kylie will hurt herself doing somersaults on a hard wood floor.

Archie destroyed his Da Bird feathers in a few days of getting it. I ordered some replacement feathers that Archie found , ripped open the packet and had a lot of fun destroying. I have found the Da Mousey better for Archie and that has lasted now for weeks. He goes crazy for it. :evillaugh:

I have a similar problem with Poppy - we have hard floors in all rooms but one now (partially inspired by the cats, as it's a lot easier to clean...), and poor Poppy can't get a grip with her big furry feet (the NFC have big tufts of hair between all their toes - great for cold Norwegian weather, not so great for running on wooden floors).

so you can buy replacement feathers??? Its snapped off where the metal thing connects to the feathered bit so his stick etc is ok.

Can someone show me a pic of this da mouse thing please?!

I love it when cats look like mini lions!

I kept it ontop of the fridge, a good 6ft up, the other day there was no scratching at my door and I slept through, when I went down Barry was dead to the world and him feathered bit was in his bed with him!!! :) Must have been up all night with it!!

You can buy replacement feathers and all other attachments (Da Mousey, Da Puffy, Da Sparkly and the latest one Da Furry) from the Purrs shop.  Prices include 1st class postage and all profit goes to the Purrs rescue fund.  Just click on the 'shop' tab top right hand corner of the screen.

If you're getting Barry some new feathers then you MUST get a mouse, my boys go mental for it.  So much so that it's kept in a locked cupboard and yesterday I found Riley attempting to fiddle with the key (which was in the lock) to unlock it.

Here's the mouse static...

and finally captured.

Da mouse is the fave attachment around here too.  Although the furry attachment is on it's way so we'll have to see how well that goes down!

I'm sure you are being  careful now, but please make sure it's not left anywhere he can get it.  It takes them seconds to chew through the string.  I left it unattended for a short while and Mosi chewed through it and swallowed some string.  He had to have an emergency operation to see if there was any inside him as it could have killed him.

Edit - Susan, Sorry to hear that, but glad its ok :) ;D, luckily it was just the feathered bit but trust me I wont be leaving it there again!!

Double edit - Just ordered that mousey thing, bring on the madness!

My first set of feathers lasted 2 weeks.

I let them 'catch it' - but as soon as the cupboard door opens, the chattering starts as they know whats coming bless.

Ginger... GINGER!!!??? Poppy's a red silver tabby and white, actually.

(I have a slight problem with the word "ginger". Could have something to do with the fact that I've got reddish hair myself...)

Poor Poppy being called ginger!!  :( Give her an enormous cuddle from her Auntie Lottie to help stop her crying.

I think I've had mine about two months now and it's almost still in one piece, just one feather missing. Mine only comes out about twice a week too though.

Love the pics, Helen!
Title: Am I to blame for Barrys first kill?!?!!?
Post by: SpecialRed on November 01, 2007, 11:44:27 AM
So Ginger is the wrong word, sorry :-[,those red cats are cool! :wow:

Edit - Yesterday whilst bored I attached one of Barrys toy mice to the end of his Da Bird. He ran after it for a while but did not seem as interested as usual. Now Barry is only 1 1\2 and has never brought me any presents before. This morning I noticed something in the back garden, and to my suprise it was a Mouse, after watching barry do his Mini Lion impression with it, it made me wonder if yesterday was a catalyst and that he put two and two together?!

Ginger is most definitely the right word (in my opinion :evillaugh:).  Poppy is a posh pedigree so I think she doesn't like to be classed as a common ginger  :evillaugh:

Don't let that put you off getting him a Da Mouse, it's not like any ordinary mouse  :wow: I don't normally drag da mouse but rather let it fly with the amazing effects that you saw below.  L n R have loads of toy mice which they do like but da mouse really is in another league.
