Title: cat identification help
Post by: tez2384 on October 21, 2007, 23:31:48 PM
Hi me and my gf where walking down the street the other day and saw a large cat about the size of a english bulldog (the one in the churchill advert) and with a head about 5/6 inches across from earhole to earhole, it had dark tabie/bengal markings and was a little plump but very muscular, it definatly was not a mainecoon so does anyone have an idea what it could be? my gf thinks it may have been a bengal.

Sorry no idea but the big head would seem to say this cat is a male and likely unneutered.

Could be a really big British or Exotic shorthair. Not sure about the markings though. I think we need to see pictures. Sounds like a handsome one!

Big BSH tomcat, I'd go with... if it was a Maine Coon or NFC you'd probably have realised it.

Scots wildcats are bigger yet but they are VERY distinctive looking and also extremely rare.

it was a handsome chap alot bigger than ive ever seen, It looked just like a very large moggy but with strong tabby/bengal markings so i thought it must be some sort of pedigree,
It was about twice the size of large cats i have seen before.
Ill take some pictures if i see it again

A bloody big moggie with a rear package to match  Some can get to 8kg and not be a special breed. I pity any cat who fights him for a bin bag   :scared: :scared:
