I am looking for a cat on behalf of a good friend of mine. She is moving into a house on the out skirts of Aberdeen with her 3 yr old son and her partner. She would like to give a rescue cat a good home. Her 3 yr old son is very respectful around all animals and is never left left unsupervised around them. My Diva even tolerates a small stroke from the wee lad. Although the house is in the country, my friend would like the cat to be a house cat as there is a road near by but also many out houses which would probably hold more interest than the road. Age and gender are not of any great importance.

Surely there is a rescue on CC thats has some.?

There are rescues up here and have contacted them all. Some just have this stupid ruling about not rehoming to homes with small children. Whilst I understand why they may not want to rehome to a home with unruly children, I think each should be judged on its own merits. Any way, that said two have contacted me and fingers crossed that will mean one or two kitties will soon have a nice new home in the very near future.

Fingers crossed - I dislike blanket rules, and the sad part is that in most cases, it is the animal who suffers and stays in rescue longer.

I agree 100% and that is why I have the quote below.
