Lexy is by far the least interested cat in catnip. No catnip toy amuses her, at least not much after one play with it. I always thought she was one of those that would never be really drooly with it....
Or so I thought!
Yesterday I filled some ziplock bags with her toys and poured in a liberal amount of some nice strong catnip. :evillaugh: I was sitting on the floor when I did so I suspect a few rogue leaves escaped onto the carpet (not that I can see them). Here Lexy is tonight, doing a funny tail in air, she rolled around on the carpet, head scraping it and then she just lay there...
-
Definately an addict
Franta is the funny one here but a picture wouldnt show what he does ;D He will stand on the cat nip mouse and then run on spot with his back feet, cant think why he does it but iys so funny ;D

Here's my sister's Bridge baby Fuddy after a round with her catnip mouse... She used to find it and tear it to pieces... It didn't live long poor thing!

That'll be the 'nip induced paranoia. She probably thought it was laughing at her or summat :evillaugh:
-
Here is Misa and his ummmmm plants
-
Them is stoned eyes Mum :-:
-
Brilliant photos. Misa appears to be so stoned he thinks he IS a plant! ;)
-

He had been munchin and diggin and they were just growing, so nice a nd sweet and tasty ;D
-
I have never given my cats catnip,it made my friends cat go totally loopy and aggressive so it kinda put me off.
Has it been proven that catnip is good for cats? :shy:
-
Each cat will react differently, just like they say some cats aren't interested at all and only about 40 or 60% (can't remember) love it. Its herbal so not sure it can be bad for them to be honest. ;)
-
They are meant to go loopy and Misa will only be agressive if I try to take it away.
I was collecting seeds from those plants late summer, when they were torn and tattered, and my hands stunk of cat nip and I thought he would like to smell em but I was grabbed by front paws and was gonna be attacked.......my dumb fault cos he was just treating my hands like he would the plant
Its certainly not bad for them ;D
-
Loving the pictures, perhaps I should give some to Leo and Lawrence, it may make them less scardey
-
Lucifer after my stooopid sister spilt a load on the sofa, we thought wed cleared it up but obviously not
and after another catnip session
-
great stoned pictures ;D
-
These are great :)
My boys are just starting to be interested in catnip and a couple of the toys have it in, they grab them roll around on top and growl if their brother comes near it :)
-
They're all great pics but I just love Lucifer on the settee, he's barely conscious :evillaugh:
-
I am LOVING these pics... I want to get two catnip plants, one in my garden when I catproof it for my own moggies, and one out front so that any passing pud can have a quick trip. :evillaugh:
-
Jaffa gets very chilled out and lies on his back with his legs in the air ;D I have noticed that he responds less now than he did when he was younger - is that common? For cats to stop being so interested in catnip as they get older? Mosi shows no interest in catnip at all.
-
Loving all the piccies :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
Lola destroyed all my plants and 2 were secretly growing back until yesterday >:( She did it in secret tho so no photographic evidence
-
Hobbes was once exposed to a catnip, the normally laid back lazy boy took it as a "feline speed", went all mad running and jumping all about. With that memory still intact, I am a bit apprehensive about letting Oliver try it, he is already hyperactive as he is!! :scared:
-
Priceless pics! I love Bilbo and Misa...
Poppy & Monkey definitely get stoned on catnip. Poppy becomes even more of a scatterbrain than usual - can't remember whether she's playing, or washing, or resting... And Monkey becomes all undignified for once.

Thats was just brilliant and am still laughin ;D
-
haha, I'm actually laughing quite a bit myself...
People without cats must have very boring lives.

Haha, Poppy's the big fluffy red silver and white girl (NFC). Monkey's the sleek, elegant, cheeky Siamese cross.

Aww thank you :thanks: - George is a big soft, scaredy cat, always has been, he's 11 now. He came from a horrible household where the family had so many animals, (and children!) the wife collected them, the husband hated them and was horrible to them. None of the cats were neutered, always having kittens obviously. My friend who was their next door neighbour, tried to discuss neutering, but it fell on deaf ears, and my friend ended up taking several of the cats, because they kept coming to her to get away from next door. Luckily the family moved away.
-
Sadly we lost Bob this year he was only 6yrs, he was the biggest scaredy cat in the world, just a big purr cat really. So I suppose him and george have a lot in commom. George is a lucky boy to have landed on his little paws when he met you.
-
I've had catnip balls and stuff but they don't bother with them much. I've got some seeds I got off ebay but haven't gotten round to planting them yet. Must do that soon!
-
Barry does not like it, says it gives him a headache!
-
Leo doesnt react to it.. I bought some 100% canadian cat nip cusions.. didnt bat an eye lid . I think they have effect from 6 months is this right ?
Saying that he adored his cat grass.. I kept it on the window sill bu his cat tree & he would munch it for ages.. It died tho cos of all the munching so I must get some more !
I hope catnip does have an affect on him.. Marley didnt bother with it ever either !

I think some cats may need to be a bit older; as for Poppy - she's ALWAYS been into the stuff! The very first time I visited her as a kitten, I brought a bag of cat toys with me. They were in my bag, and Poppy sniffed them out, grabbed hold of a knitted fish that then remained in her mouth for the next hour or so... All the while she was hissing and growling at the other kittens (who were quite scared of her...).
-
Well I received a wiggly waggler today (Thanks Tan) when I opened the bag there was a lot of "spare" catnip that fell all over the floor ... within seconds Rossi was rolling around in it closely followed by Zephyr

 Mine do that too! Whenever I am making some toys and have the big bag of catnip out, they always find a way of making me spill some... But watching them go completely nuts makes it worth having to clean up the mess!
-
 Thought they would like the extra in the bag that the wagglers come with :evillaugh: :evillaugh: ;)
Brill pics hun ;D
-
Yumi only seemed to start liking the stuff after she was a year old although the boys go nuts for it ...
I have to say that i find the spray catnip more effective than the 'erb ;D
